Julian Bärenfänger has joined Avedon Capital Partners (Avedon) from HG Capital as a partner in the firm’s German office.
Bärenfänger joined HG Capital in 2007 and was active as Associate Director in the Healthcare Investment Team in the UK. He played a key role in a number of transactions from pro‐active deal sourcing to in‐depth portfolio work. He held board seats at Casa Reha and Mercury Pharma where he also successfully managed the exit process. Next to the healthcare sector he has gained experience in software and business services. RA Capital Management, the crossover fund manager dedicated to evidence-based investing in healthcare and life sciences companies, announces three strategic, back office appointments.
The appointments are Christopher Wolf as Chief Financial Officer, Derek Meisner as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, and Nick McGrath as Corporate Counsel and Compliance Officer.
The recent back-office hires join a growing team of 45 at the Boston-based firm, which includes an internal group of 18 PhD scientific researchers that help facilitate the firm’s technical and clinical research efforts.

Inflexion Private Equity has appointed three new Investment Executives – George Collier, John Cordrey and Edward Lynch, adding depth to its 30-strong investment team.
Collier (pictured) joins from Deloitte’s M&A and debt advisory team where he specialised in business and financial services, working with numerous private equity backed companies such as JLA Group and JTC Group. Cordrey gained cross-sector experience at PwC within the Corporate Finance team; his track record includes working on mid-market deals, carve-outs and private equity transactions including restaurant operator Gondola Group and Constructionline. Lynch worked at Catalyst Corporate Finance where he helped to advise Foster +
Monument Group, an independent alternative investment fund placement agent, has hired three professionals to join Managing Director Niklas K Amundsson (pictured) in the firm’s Hong Kong office.
The new additions to the Monument team are Albert Jun, Director, Sabrina Meng, Senior Associate and Kris Ho, Operations Manager.
The Hong Kong team will be based at Monument Group’s new permanent offices in Two Exchange Square, the hub of the local private equity community.

Platte River Equity has added two investment professionals to its team with Eric Crawford (pictured) joining as a Vice President, and TJ Stone as an Associate.
Crawford is returning to Platte River where he served as an Associate for three years prior to pursuing his MBA. As a Vice President, he will focus on investments across all of the firm’s target sectors. Crawford was previously an investment banking Analyst at Jefferies in Charlotte, North Carolina. He holds an MBA with Distinction from the Kellogg School of Management and an AB in Economics and Engineering from Dartmouth College.

Lancaster Pollard has hired Chad Elliott as managing director of the firm’s mergers and acquisitions group. Elliott will lead the firm’s national efforts in sell-side and buy-side advisory services for seniors housing and care properties.

PwC has strengthened its financial restructuring offering to corporates with the appointment of a new partner. Alistair Dick (pictured) joins PwC from Rothschild and will lead PwC’s corporate financial restructuring team.
Dick, who will be responsible for helping to grow PwC’s restructuring offering to corporates, was most recently head of Rothschild’s debt advisory and restructuring practice in South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. He also spent over six years in Rothschild’s European debt advisory and restructuring team based in London and has a background in natural resources project finance and acquisition finance.

Business turnaround specialist and former Global Head of Strategic Investments at Royal Bank of Scotland, John Davison, will assume the role of CEO of Pillarstone.
Pillarstone is the pan-European platform recently launched by KKR Credit to support banks in managing their exposures to non-core and under-performing assets including corporate loans, real estate and shipping, by improving the performance and value of the businesses which underpin the exposures.
Davison brings a strong track record of working with business owners and managers to turn around businesses to create long-term value for a broad range of stakeholders. In his previous role as
Business Growth Fund-backed York Mailing, a supplier of print material to the retail sector, has announced new investment and changes to its management team.
A management buy-out has been led by current CFO Stephen Goodman and financially backed by Pricoa Capital Group. Chris Ingram, who co-founded the business in 1999, becomes chairman and current MD Mike Newbould will also remain on the board, taking on the role of interim CEO. Stephen Goodman will transition into the CEO role as well as leading the wider senior management team who have also become shareholders in the business.

Baird has expanded its European Investment Banking group with the appointment of Thomas Fetzer (pictured)
as Managing Director and Head of DACH Investment Banking in Frankfurt.
In the newly created role, Fetzer will help accelerate Baird’s growing market share in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, leveraging the firm’s global investment banking platform of deep industry expertise, product knowledge and financial sponsor coverage on behalf of its clients in the region.
