Law firm Goodwin Procter has promoted 23 lawyers, including London-based Greg Barclay, to the firm’s partnership.
Barclay is a member of the firm’s private investment funds group.
The appointments are effective from October 2014.
Barclay advises on the formation of, and investment in, European and international private funds, including private equity, venture capital, mezzanine/debt, infrastructure and real estate funds, and other investment vehicles. He joined the firm as an associate from Ashurst in 2012 and becomes Goodwin Procter’s seventh partner in London.

Dillon Eustace has expanded its global practice with the senior hire of Jonathan Law to its Cayman office and the addition of Fionnán Gannon to its Dublin office.
Law joins the funds and corporate team in Cayman as partner, and brings with him over 10 years of Cayman law expertise.
Gannon has moved from the Irish Stock Exchange, where he was previously a senior regulation executive, to join Dillon Eustace’s listing department.
Having started his career at Dundas & Wilson in Edinburgh, Law subsequently joined Clifford Chance in London, and has experience in Cayman as partner at another
Pamplona Capital Management has appointed Jeffrey Kirt as a partner, as it continues to strengthen its US private equity presence.
Kirt joins from Oak Hill Advisors, where he was a partner responsible for stressed and distressed investments, having joined the firm in 2002. He also had senior research responsibility for the aerospace, automotive and financial industries.
His appointment follows that of Bill Pruellage last month, formerly co-president at Castle Harlan, and increases to four the number of partners based in Pamplona’s New York office.
Pamplona is currently investing its recently committed USD4 billion fourth private equity fund.
Last
Max Nardulli has joined Dexion Capital, the alternatives investment bank, as head of international sales.
He will be responsible for Dexion Capital’s growing distribution strategy and investor network across a number of different regions globally.
Nardulli was previously head of international sales and distribution at Cheyne Capital where he was in charge for business development globally ex-UK. Prior to this, he was managing director, head of alternative capital markets at Goldman Sachs International, for EMEA and Asia ex-Japan. Before that, he had a number of roles within GSAM business development team focusing on Southern Europe and Latin America.
Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has appointed Charlie Geffen and Mark Sperotto as partners in the firm’s London office.
Geffen, who served as Ashurst’s senior partner and, prior to that, head of its private equity practice, will join Gibson Dunn as chair of the London corporate practice. He will focus on global corporate and sponsor relationships, including mergers and acquisitions of all forms and private equity transactions.
Sperotto is a corporate finance and private equity partner at Ashurst. He will continue to focus on cross-border M&A, private equity and equity capital markets transactions.

Nomura has made two new hires into its prime finance business, which encompasses equity financing, prime services and Delta 1.
Massimo Labella has joined as head of directional Delta One sales. He previously spent 12 years at JP Morgan, focusing on flow equity derivatives and Delta 1 products.
Babita Ittoo has joined as a vice president, and will focus on client origination in EMEA. She previously spent 10 years at Goldman Sachs, focusing on the prime brokerage hedge fund client base.

Dunedin, the UK mid-market private equity house, has appointed Lorna Eltringham as investor relations manager and Jessica Hardy as an analyst.
At the same time, Dunedin’s David Williams joins Ross Marshall as a senior partner of the firm.
Eltringham joins from Coller Capital where she worked with the fundraising team to raise its sixth global secondaries fund with capital commitments of USD5.5 billion. She previously spent ten years with Credit Suisse, most recently as a vice president in their private equity fund placements team. She will support partner Mark Ligertwood in managing relationships with new and existing investors following
ACG Capital has added three investment professionals to its fund of funds team.
With commitments of EUR1.8 billion, the team invests globally across all sub-sectors of private equity.
Gilles Michat leads the primary and secondary fund of funds’ team, which is now comprised of eight professionals.
Jérôme Marie joined ACG Capital as principal in May 2014. He began his career in 2004 as an analyst at Arcis Group in France. Two years later, he joined the London office as an associate and became vice president in 2009.

Actis, the global pan-emerging market private equity firm, has appointed Adrián Katzew as chief executive of its Mexican energy platform, Zuma Energía.
In addition, Mesopower México Corp, a vehicle managed by the investment firm Mesoamerica, has taken a 30 per cent stake in Zuma Energia.
Katzew has a long track record of international leadership in renewable energy, having been responsible for building and operating wind energy projects of more than 900 MW in various countries. He has participated in funding projects of more than USD5 billion in the energy sector.

Luciano joins the firm from King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin, where he headed the Italian financial markets group.
Luciano has extensive experience in capital markets/debt matters, securitisation transactions and private equity, venture capital and hedge fund formation. He also has extensive experience of financial market regulation, compliance and AML procedures.
