Neuberger Berman, an employee-controlled asset manager, has appointed Susan Kasser as managing director and head of private debt at Neuberger Berman Alternatives.    Kasser joined Neuberger Berman in March and is based in New York.   Neuberger Berman’s private debt business is focused on building portfolios of attractive yield-oriented investments, including uni-tranche, second lien and mezzanine, and financing portfolio companies of private equity investors. The private debt business is a part of Neuberger Berman Alternatives, a private equity limited partner and an experienced direct equity co-investor. Venture capital fund managers Mercia Fund Management and Catapult Venture Managers have appointed Carlton Jones as chief executive of nanoTherics, effective immediately.   Formerly global head of sales at ThalesNano, Jones brings over 27 years’ experience in the life sciences sector to his new role, and has been responsible for the implementation of global sales, distribution and market penetration strategies.   Prior to his time at ThalesNano, Jones was sales director for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Thermo Biosciences, where he managed both direct and distribution channels. Private equity firm SL Capital Partners has promoted Richard Chapman, Cameron Graham and John Cancellieri to the position of investment director, as well as Andrzej Plichta to investment manager. Chapman, who joined SL Capital’s Edinburgh office in 2007, is responsible for primary fund investments, secondary investments and co‐investments. He is particularly focused on the European turnaround equity space, as well as the Italian and Benelux buyout markets. Clive Snowdon has been appointed group managing director of the Moore Group.   This new role is the first senior position to be announced since the fund business was acquired by First Names Group in January.   Snowdon’s (pictured) experience and knowledge ideally place him for the new role at Moore.
