Piper Jaffray appoints MD in financial sponsor coverage group

Investment bank and asset management firm Piper Jaffray Companies has appointed David Lee as a managing director within its financial sponsors coverage group. He will be based in the firm’s New York office.

Lee joined Piper Jaffray from Houlihan Lokey, where he was part of the firm’s financial sponsors group. In this role, he originated and executed M&A, capital markets and restructuring transactions for leading private equity and hedge fund clients.
Prior to Houlihan Lokey, Lee worked as an investment banker and private equity investor at Stone Key Partners, Altaris Capital Partners and Lehman Brothers. He is a graduate of Harvard University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics.
“David brings a breadth of experience and a strong network of relationships across the private equity community. Combined with our full range of advisory, debt and equity capabilities, his addition will create valuable opportunities on behalf of our clients,” says Scott LaRue, global head of investment banking and capital markets at Piper Jaffray.
