Red Fort Capital appoints Raj S. Inamdar as principal

Red Fort Capital, a private equity real estate firm focused on India, has appointed Raj S. Inamdar as principal.

Inamdar will coordinate the firm’s expansion in areas such as completed asset acquisitions, third-party asset management, side-car ventures and debt financing.

These initiatives will complement Red Fort’s existing investment platform focused on real estate development.

G.B. Singh, chairman of Red Fort Capital, says:"We are delighted to welcome Raj to the Red Fort team. During 2010, we plan to commence fundraising for our second opportunity fund and incubate new ventures that build on our core real estate competencies. Raj’s global and diverse background, coupled with his deep real estate capabilities and institutional experience, will be invaluable to us in our long-term growth efforts."

Inamdar adds: "Red Fort Capital has a strong track record of success in the real estate space, and I am excited to join the firm’s world-class team. Together, we’ll be able to build upon Red Fort’s strengths and capitalise upon the broad range of opportunities in India across the development spectrum and capital stack."

Prior to joining Red Fort, Inamdar executed over USD2bn in real estate transactions, developments, financings and restructurings in India and the US. From 2007 to 2009 he was the chief investment officer of South Asian Real Estate Group. He is a non-executive partner of Indra Capital Partners, which has structured a USD300m mixed-use urban project in Bangalore, India.
