Resilience Capital adds Steven Demetriou to executive committee

Resilience Capital Partners, a Cleveland, US-based private equity firm, has added Steven J. Demetriou as a member of its executive committee and its board of advisers.

Since December 2004, Demetriou (pictured) has been the chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Aleris International, an international aluminum company, following the merger of Commonwealth Industries and Imco Recycling.

Demetriou served as president and chief executive officer of Commonwealth from June 2004, and a director of Commonwealth from 2002 until the merger.

He was president and chief executive officer of privately held Noveon, a global producer of chemicals for consumer and industrial applications, from 2001 until June 2004, when he led the sale of Noveon to Lubrizol.

Demetriou serves on the board of privately held Kraton Polymers as well as two public companies, Foster Wheeler and the OM Group. He also serves on the boards of several community organisations, including United Way of Greater Cleveland, Cuyahoga Community College Foundation and the Cleveland Sports Commission.

"Not only is Steve a great strategic thinker and managerial talent, his experience in the metals industry, chemicals industry and insights into corporate restructuring and finance makes him a great addition to the executive committee. We all look forward to his involvement with the firm," says Steven Rosen, co-chief executive of Resilience Capital Partners.
