SK Capital Partners, a private investment firm, has announced that it has further strengthened its investment team with the appointment of Jack Norris as a managing director.
Prior to joining SK Capital, Norris (pictured) was a principal at Arsenal Capital Partners focusing on specialty chemicals, materials and aerospace/defence investments. Before joining Arsenal, he was an investment professional at Berkshire Partners and an investment banker in the mergers and acquisitions group of Goldman Sachs.
‘Jack and I have worked very closely together leading deals such as Reilly Industries, Vertellus Specialties, Sermatech International and Velsicol Chemical,’ says Barry Siadat, a managing director of SK Capital Partners. ‘I have the utmost respect for Jack’s investment judgment and deal execution capabilities and am excited to have him become an integral part of SK Capital.’
‘I’m excited to be working with Barry again and to build on our successful track record of sourcing and improving niche leading companies and generating attractive returns for our investors,’ says Norris. ‘I look forward to exploiting both the capabilities of the highly skilled SK Capital team as well as the opportunity rich environment for making investments.’
SK Capital is a private investment firm focused on investing in targeted segments of the specialty chemicals, materials and healthcare sectors. SK Capital Partners II, the firm’s first institutional fund, is set to launch in the second quarter of 2009.
The hiring of Norris follows the announcement last week of SK Capital’s agreement to acquire Solutia’s integrated nylon business, a supplier and manufacturer of nylon chemicals, plastics and fibres. The transaction is expected to close on 30 April or soon thereafter.
