The Guernsey Investment Fund Association (GIFA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China Association of Private Equity (CAPE).
The British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association’s Channel Islands Working Group (BVCA CIWG) was also a signatory to the MoU and will enjoy the benefits that come with closer ties.

Jerusalem Venture Partners (JVP) has been chosen by Israel's National Innovation Authority (Office of the Chief Scientist) to operate a Jerusalem-based technological incubator.
The JVP led group included Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI), Reliance Industries (NSE: Reliance) and Yissum, the Research Development Company of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
The JVP Labs Incubator will invest in startups in a variety of fields, among them enterprise software, media technologies, Internet of Things (IOT) and communications.

East Capital Explorer AB (ECEX) is to sell its entire 63 per cent stake in Starman Group, the pan-Baltic cable TV and broadband provider, to Providence Equity.
The transaction, which will result in an exit gain for ECEX of at least EUR35 million, corresponding to a gross IRR in excess of 30 per cent, will consist of an upfront cash consideration of approximately EUR 81m with the potential for an additional earn-out of up to EUR5 million payable in 2017. The transaction will represent an implied total enterprise value of approximately EUR210 million.

Aurelius Group has sold fidelis HR to SD Worx, for an undisclosed sum and stands to realise a significant, double-digit return on its investment following the completion of the deal in Q1 2016.
The Group intends to pay out a proportion of the return on investment to its own investors via a participation dividend.

Charterhouse Capital Partners IX fund has agreed the sale of Italian pharmaceutical company DOC Generici (DOC) to funds advised by CVC Capital Partners.
Financial details of the transaction, which is subject to standard regulatory approvals and is expected to close during the summer of 2016, have not been disclosed.

Investment in UK technology companies by private equity firms has reached its highest level since 2012, totalling GBP1.93 billion in 2015, according to international investment bank Altium.
The latest figures represent a 124 per cent rise on 2014, where deal values reached GBP865 million. The data, provided by Experian Corpfin, showed that average deal size value stood at GBP50.9 million in 2015 – up 189 per cent from the GBP17.6 million average in 2014.
The largest transaction in the last 12 months was the GBP499 million buyout of insurance technology firm Innovation Group by American private equity firm Carlyle.
