Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC Private Limited (GIC) has adopted Omgeo ALERT, a web-based global database for the maintenance and communication of account and Standing Settlement Instructions (SSIs).
The firm adopted the solution to deliver further improvements in post-trade operational efficiency.
GIC wanted to enhance its enterprise trade lifecycle platform as part of a two-stage process. Phase one involved the importing of SSIs into ALERT, with a focus on fixed income instructions, in the third quarter of 2014. Private equity firm GTCR has completed the previously announced sale of its portfolio company, Fundtech, to DH Corporation (TSX: DH) for cash consideration of approximately USD1.25 billion.

GrafTech International has signed a letter of intent regarding the potential sale of USD150 million of 7 per cent convertible preferred shares in a private offering to an affiliate of alternative asset manager Brookfield Asset Management (BAM).
GrafTech has also entered into a separate letter of intent for a possible tender offer by Brookfield to acquire outstanding shares of GrafTech common stock.
The first letter of intent contemplates that the convertible preferred shares would be issued in two series. One series would be immediately convertible into common shares equal to up to 19.9 per cent of the currently outstanding shares
Law firm Eversheds has advised mid-market private equity firm CBPE Capital on the sale of IDIS Group Holdings to Clinigen Group for an Enterprise Value of GBP225m.
The transaction represents a money multiple of 22x CBPE’s GBP9.4m investment in IDIS.

This quarter’s competition focuses on businesses within the Life Sciences sector.
Mercia is currently inviting applications from the life science sector, specifically biotechnology, medical devices and medical diagnostics. Companies applying must be no older than two years-old, and will not have received EIS or VCT funding previously.
The finalists will pitch in person to the investment team at Mercia’s Midlands-based offices in Warwickshire at 4pm on Monday 1 June.

Scottish law firm Gilson Gray has advised Scottow Moor Solar on the necessary rights and the initial financing for the EUR38million ground-mounted solar PV project at the former RAF Coltishall, Norfolk.
Since receiving planning consent for a 50MW solar site in January 2015, Scottow Moor Solar has connected the first circa 34MW phase. This phase is believed to have been the fastest large-scale solar deployment in Europe: seven weeks from commencement to connection.
