Steve Crowell has joined real estate private equity firm Alvarez & Marsal Capital Real Estate (A&M CapRE) as a senior director.
Atlanta-based Crowell brings more than 25 years of experience operating and raising capital for community banks throughout the Southeast as well as handling commercial credit underwriting, real estate lending and turnaround management strategies for banks, real estate companies and operating companies. He has successfully led bank turnarounds and has experience managing the regulatory agreement process. Mr. Crowell offers specialized expertise in loan participations and loan syndications as well as loan loss reserve analysis and bank regulatory issues.

Prior to joining A&M, Crowell served as CEO of a community bank in the Atlanta area. He previously served as CEO of a residential real estate golf development company where he led a successful turnaround that resulted in the sale of the company’s holdings. He has also performed and led due diligence teams in the evaluation of sale transactions for banks, residential mortgage lending companies, residential real estate developments, golf courses and a specialty golf apparel company. He has also evaluated and developed business and capital plans for financial institutions requiring regulatory approval.
Crowell earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and business administration from the University of Florida.
