Kohlberg Kravis Roberts has appointed Ambassador Ford M. Fraker, the former US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and former chairman of private investment banking firm Trinity Group, as a senior adviser to the firm.
Henry R. Kravis, co-founder of KKR, says: ‘With more than 30 years of experience as a Middle East commercial and investment banker and, until recently, forging public policy and diplomacy in the Middle East, Ambassador Fraker is an important addition to our leadership team in the region. We are pleased he has decided to join the firm and welcome his advice, counsel and professional expertise.’
Led by Makram Azar, managing director and head of Middle East and North Africa, KKR began to establish a presence in the Mena region in 2008 and opened an office in Dubai in 2009.
Fraker (pictured) will work closely with Azar in seeking investment opportunities and fostering relationships with investors worldwide.
‘Today’s economic environment underscores the need for private capital globally and there are ample investment opportunities for experienced global investment firms throughout the region. I look forward to working with Makram and the rest of the team to further enhance KKR’s presence throughout the Middle East,’ says Fraker.
