Marc Moyers has been named National Sector Leader of the US Private Equity Group of KPMG LLP, the US audit, tax and advisory firm has announced.

"Marc’s extensive and relevant experience makes him the right choice to lead KPMG’s US Private Equity group," says Rob Arning, Vice Chairman, Market Development. "Private Equity firms are looking to work with advisors who can help them navigate the kinds of issues that Marc and his team clearly and deeply understand – from dealing with new regulation and a competitive investment environment to capturing portfolio company efficiencies."

Moyers, 56, will lead cross-functional teams of KPMG audit, tax and advisory professionals who help private-equity firms develop and execute cross-border mergers, acquisitions, strategic alliances and joint ventures, as well as strategies for exits, operational efficiencies and cash-generating options for their funds and portfolio companies. He succeeds Shawn Hessing who is retiring from the firm.
Moyers has worked with some of the world’s leading private equity firms and investment firms. He previously also served as KPMG’s office managing partner in Richmond, Va., from 2000-2008. Moyers joined KPMG LLP in 1977 and was admitted to the partnership in 1986.

He holds a bachelor of science degree in commerce from the University of Virginia, and is a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia. He also serves on the board of directors and the executive committee of the YMCA of Greater Richmond, and is also on the board of the Richmond Ballet.
