New York private equity firm Castle Harlan, Inc, has promoted Anand T Philip (pictured) to Managing Director, while Joyce M Demonteverde has joined the firm as Vice President. Demonteverde had previously been with Castle Harlan, Inc prior to going to the Harvard Business School.
Castle Harlan believes that Philip’s promotion and Demonteverde’s return will strengthen the firm’ capabilities in identifying and aggressively pursuing new investment opportunities and will enhance the firm’s work with existing portfolio companies.

Anand has been with Castle Harlan since 2006 and was previously a Vice President. Before joining Castle Harlan, he was an investment professional at the Blackstone Group, where he focused on private equity transactions across a wide range of industries for Blackstone Capital Partners, as well as Blackstone Communication Partners. Prior to that, he worked at Wasserstein & Co, where he focused on principal investing for US Equity Partners. He has served on the Board of Directors of numerous private and public companies.
Anand received a BA in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was a Trustee Scholar and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Ohio Wesleyan University.
Demonteverde returns to Castle Harlan from JH Whitney & Co. She had previously worked at Castle Harlan as an Associate from 2005 to 2008.

At JH Whitney & Co, Demonteverde focused on investments across a number of industries, including consumer, specialty manufacturing, healthcare and business services. She also has worked in the Healthcare Investment Banking Group of Goldman, Sachs & Co, where she focused on merger advisory and debt and equity financing transactions for global healthcare clients. Demonteverde is currently a board member of Baker & Taylor. She graduated Cum Laude from Harvard University with a BA in Economics, and earned her MBA from the Harvard Business School.
