LBO France and Abenex have signed an exclusive agreement aimed at the acquisition by LBO France of the majority stake in RG Safety Group currently held by Abenex.
Founded in 1987, headquartered in Saint Priest, and now managed by Pierre Manchini (CEO), RG Safety Group is the French leading specialised distributor of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The group distributes a wide range of products (35,000 references) covering 6 main protection fields: Head, Hand, Foot, Body, Breathing, and Hygiene & Safety in the working environment. Monroe Capital has acted as sole lead arranger and administrative agent on the funding of a USD25 million asset-based facility to refinance the existing debt facility and provide working capital for Betteridge Jewelers (Betteridge).
Founded in 1897 and based in Greenwich, Connecticut, Betteridge is a premier jeweller and watch retailer selling many of the world’s most luxurious brands.
The company operates stores in Greenwich, Connecticut; Palm Beach, Florida; Vail, Colorado; and Aspen, Colorado.
Omnes Capital, with support from GSO Capital and Bpifrance, has conducted the spin-off of the Geoxia Group’s brands in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region owned by LBO France – Maisons Clairlande, Les Demeures de la Côte d’Argent, Rouquié Constructions – via a primary LBO.

Popular US shopping app Ibotta has secured new funding led by Silicon Valley-based GGV Capital. This round furthers Ibotta’s mission of providing its consumers a Life Rewarded for making everyday purchases online, in mobile apps and at retail stores.
With USD3.8 billion under management across eight funds, GGV has invested in leading consumer tech brands and marketplaces such as Alibaba, Boxed, Houzz, OfferUp, Peleton, Poshmark, Wish and more. The venture capital firm was founded in 2000 and invests across the US and China, the world’s two largest economies.

Gefion Insurance, a Copenhagen-based specialty non-life insurer, has closed a private placement of Solvency II-compliant subordinated notes in an aggregate principal amount of EUR10 million with funds managed by Fermat Capital Management.
The net proceeds from the offering will be used to support Gefion’s attractive growth opportunities in the European specialty non-life insurance market, to refund the Company’s existing subordinated debt, and for general corporate purposes.

Global fiduciary and administration services provider Estera has acquired Headstart, a specialist corporate and trust services business in Luxembourg.
The transaction paves the way for Estera’s expansion into Luxembourg, one of world’s most important jurisdictions for funds and corporate services, while also broadening the company’s offering in corporate, fund and trust services.
Headstart’s Managing Directors, Christophe Gaul and Manuel Mouget, will continue to lead the business. The company, whose clients include private equity and real estate firms, institutional clients, corporates and high net worth individuals, will rebrand to Estera in September 2017.

IGF, the leading commercial finance provider for SMEs, has delivered a total of GBP16.6m to SMEs across Scotland over the past year.
Since the opening of its Glasgow office in June 2016, IGF has grown from strength to strength in the region. Over the past 12 months, the business has financed 26 SMEs and last November allocated an additional GBP5m fund to support management buyout (MBO) activity across the country.

International law firm Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) has advised Dubai-based International Real Estate Partnership Holdings (IREP) on the purchase from administrators Mark Fry and Gary Shankland of Begbies Traynor (London) of the Asia-Pacific business of real estate consultancy and services company Cluttons.
This follows the acquisition by specialist turn-around investment firm RCapital of the wider Cluttons group.
The purchased group comprises 14 companies across south-east Asia and Australasia which provide services to both the residential and commercial property markets.
