A fourth vessel has been added to the fleet of small handy dry cargo ships, following the latest shipping transaction under Talis Capital’s Project Blueline. Talis Capital advised on the acquisition of a 10,700 dwt 2007 built general cargo vessel which was completed in the last week of February. Alongside the existing vessels, she will be repositioned from the Far East and operated in European and North African markets.   INTRESCO Ltd co-invested alongside Talis Capital advised investors, and will provide full commercial, technical and crew management services to the vessel.   Talis Capital’s shipping investment activities are known as
Private equity firm Superior Capital Partners has sold Edge Adhesives to a buyer group led by Gladstone Investment Corporation and Akoya Capital Partners.  The company will continue to be led by the current executive management team.  Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.   Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, Edge specialises in butyl and block co-polymer technologies.    Scott Hauncher, a managing director at Superior, says: "The Edge story showcases several of the key initiatives Superior expects to achieve as a special situations fund.  When we acquired Edge in 2010, it was an underperforming and capital constrained business.  Through our

Albion Ventures has made an investment of GBP2.2m in Egress Software Technologies, a provider of on-demand Cloud-based email and file encryption services to organisations in the public and private sectors. Law firm CMS Hasche Sigle has advised Hamburg-based Capital Stage AG on a 10 per cent capital increase. The company has acquired photovoltaic plants and wind farms in Germany and Northern Italy with a capacity of around 241 megawatt peak (MWp) since 2009, making it one of the largest independent solar park operators in Germany.   A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by lead partner Dr Andreas Zanner provided advice to Capital Stage AG and the sole global coordinator, Joh. Maven Capital Partners has provided further finance to existing investee company Glacier Energy Services to support the acquisition of Professional Testing Services (PTS). The deal will see Maven, alongside co-investment partner Simmons Parallel Energy Fund, invest an additional GBP3.25m into Glacier.   Glacier is an international oil and gas service company with operations in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Methil and Newcastle. Since Maven first invested in the business in 2011, it has undertaken a buy-and-build strategy having acquired two complementary businesses, Ross Offshore and Site Machining Services. The Riverside Company has sold its stake in Italian competitive swimwear company Arena. Riverside acquired Tolentino, Italy-based Arena in 2010 and immediately sought to develop its presence in international markets.   During Riverside’s hold period, the firm helped Arena increase its sales and EBITDA and deepen its presence in international markets. These efforts were most apparent in the US market, where Arena gained sponsorship of the US Swimming Federation while expanding its sales.
