Private equity fund Estancia Capital Partners has acquired a minority interest in Equinoxe Alternative Investment Services, joining XL Group as a strategic investor in the firm.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Equinoxe is a boutique full-service alternative investment fund administration company founded by a group of hedge fund administration professionals, with over USD12.5bn of assets under administration (AUA) currently from over 150 alternative investment funds.

Kaiima Bio-Agritech, an Israel-based seed-and-breeding technology company, has raised more than USD65m in equity from three new investors as well as some current ones.
The three new investors are: Horizons Ventures, which manages the private investments of Li Ka-shing in Internet and technology globally; the International Financial Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group; and Infinity Group, the cross-border, China-focused, private equity fund and innovation platform.
Existing investors include DFJ, DFJ-Tamir Fishman, Mitsui, KPCB, Oberlee and Musea Ventures.

Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) and Hermes have acquired Zouk Capital’s shareholding in Anesco, a UK-based energy efficiency solutions company.
Zouk Capital, the private equity and infrastructure fund manager specialising in the clean economy, was a founding shareholder in Anesco in 2010 and has made a significant contribution to the growth of the company. The transaction was led by SEP.
Anesco was recently announced as national winner of the BVCA Management Team of the Year Award. The Reading-based company had turnover of GBP55.1m and a profit of GBP3.4m before tax.

International law firm Taylor Wessing has advised Powa Technologies on a private placement of shares to raise an aggregate amount of approximately USD76m.
The transaction represents one of the largest investments in an early stage UK technology company in recent years.

Pure Storage, the all-flash enterprise storage array company, has closed an oversubscribed USD150m series E funding round with institutional investors – the single largest private funding in the history of the enterprise storage industry.
Led by T Rowe Price, Tiger Global Management and other public market investors, with participation by its previous venture capital investors Greylock Partners, Index Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Samsung Ventures and Sutter Hill Ventures, the new funding brings the company’s total capital raise to USD245m and puts the all-flash storage pioneer on-track for a future initial public offering (IPO).

The investment will provide Paymetric with a new financial partner to help it capitalise on its current momentum and continue to drive product innovation and global expansion.

New York-based private equity firm Arsenal Capital Partners has acquired International Fiber Corporation (IFC), a supplier of cellulose‐based insoluble fibre products for food and industrial applications globally.
Prior to close of this acquisition, IFC was a portfolio company of Swander Pace Capital.

Risk Capital Partners, the private equity investment firm chaired by Luke Johnson, has completed two major acquisitions in the leisure industry – including the firm’s first move into the online travel market.
Risk Capital Partners has bought a majority stake in Cruise.co (Holdings) Ltd, the owner of the UK’s largest online cruise holiday websites Cruise.co.uk and Cruises.co.uk. This follows the announcement that it has taken a majority holding in Red Hot World Buffet, a UK restaurant groups with an annual turnover of GBP22m.
Cruise.co handles 65,000 cruise passengers every year, which generated an income of GBP64m last year alone.
CableNet Communications, a portfolio company of private equity firm Resilience Capital Partners, has acquired CableNet Services Unlimited, a provider of cable fulfilment services in the Freedom Region of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
CableNet Communications is Resilience Capital Partners’ first add-on acquisition by its Aero Communications investment platform, which it acquired in October 2012. Aero Communications is a provider of customer-focused technology solutions to broadband and wireless providers, businesses, public venues, government facilities and residential subscribers.
