Eco Material Technologies, a producer of sustainable cementitious materials, has acquired Boral Resources (Boral), Boral Limited’s North American fly ash business, and Green Cement Inc, a manufacturer of near-zero carbon cement alternatives. Eco Material is a newly-formed company dedicated to decarbonising the materials industry through scalable and proven technological solutions. As part of the combination, Eco Material received significant investments from One Equity Partners (OEP), a middle market private equity firm, Warburg Pincus, a global growth investor, and historical Green Cement shareholders.  Along with these investments, the Company priced and closed USD525 million of Green Bonds to facilitate the combination
OMERS Private Equity is to sell its interest in Forefront Dermatology to global private markets firm, Partners Group. As part of the transaction, OMERS as well as Forefront’s physicians and executive team will reinvest in Forefront as minority owners.  Located throughout the US East, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southwest, Southeast and West, Forefront Dermatology is the largest physician-led single specialty group providing dermatological services in the United States and comprises over 200 dermatology practices.   Financial terms of the transaction, which is expected to close in early Q2 2022, have not been disclosed. 
Odys Aviation (formally Craft Aerospace), an aircraft startup making hybrid-electric vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft for regional mobility, has secured USD12.4 million in a seed funding round. The round included strategic investment from Giant Ventures, Soma Capital, 11.2 Capital, Countdown Capital, Uber Elevate co-founder Nikhil Goel and Cruise Automation founder Kyle Vogt. Odys Aviation, a Y Combinator (YC) S21 company with USD13.7 million in total funding, uses a patented VTOL architecture and a flap based lifting technology that allows for a simple transition to lofted flight and more efficient cruise, which the company will demonstrate via a one passenger
Global growth investor Warburg Pincus has acquired Pharma Intelligence, a provider of specialist intelligence, data, and software for clinical trials, drug development, and regulatory compliance, from Informa, an international B2B markets knowledge services and business intelligence group. Mubadala Investment Company, the Abu Dhabi based investment company, joins Warburg Pincus in the investment. The investors plan to extend the company’s position in the pharmaceutical data and analytics market, investing in the creation of innovative products for its customers. Informa will retain a 15 per cent stake in the company. The acquisition includes Informa’s full portfolio of specialist brands which includes the
FNZ, the global wealth management platform, has secured USD1.4 billion in new equity funding from Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) and Motive Partners (Motive), in one of the largest ever primary equity raises in the wealth management sector. The fundraising values FNZ at over USD20 billion as it continues its record of innovation and geographical expansion.    This investment reflects both CPP Investments’ and Motive’s confidence in FNZ’s business model and future growth prospects both geographically and through market consolidation. The capital raise will help FNZ further accelerate its growth through increased R&D, as well as driving growth
Paleo Ridge, recognised as a leader in premium raw dog food, has secured a GBP2 million investment from private equity firm, Ashridge Capital, to support its rapid expansion. The new investment will fund the opening of a new despatch and manufacturing facility, supporting the expansion of Paleo Ridge’s capabilities and the creation of over 20 new jobs spanning supply chain, marketing, customer service, technical and operations at its home base in Waterlooville, Hampshire.  Paleo Ridge has grown by over 100 per cent over the past two years, reflecting its brand strength and reputation and the provenance of  its ingredients –
Private equity firm N4 Partners (N4) is to sell wind turbine gearbox manufacturer Moventas to Flender, a global supplier for mechanical and electrical drive systems headquartered in Germany. The deal will include Moventas’ 22GW of installed base and an additional 3GW of wind gearbox assembly capacities.
Björn Lundén, a Swedish accounting and financial administration software provider, is acquiring QLogic AB (QLogic). The financial terms of the acquisition, which was backed by European software-investor Main Capital Partners (Main), have not been disclosed. QLogic is active in the time, project and expense management space and is known for its cloud-based solution QBIS and IT support.  The acquisition epresents a strategic second add-on acquisition for the Björn Lundén group since Main became a majority investor in July 2021. 
Align Capital Partners (ACP) has closed its third strategic add-on for SEAM Group with the acquisition of Electrical Engineering & Service (EESCO), a specialist in electrical power systems, commissioning, testing, evaluation, repairs and maintenance. EESCO is accredited by the International Electrical Testing Association (NETA), a trade association dedicated to improving electrical testing standards in the United States and sharing those standards internationally.   This strategic add-on broadens SEAM Group’s specialised services for electrical distribution equipment, including switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, transformers, ground fault systems and surge protectors.  
Hullabalook, a B2B software company behind a technology platform transforms the way retailers build ecommerce sites, has raised USD8.2 million in a funding round led by Nauta Capital. Existing investors Conviction VC & Passion Capital also particpated in the round.   The capital investment will support Hullabalook’s continued growth in the UK and new markets in North America and Europe as retailers look to take advantage of the ongoing shift in consumer behaviour.
