ATL Partners (ATL) and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) are to sell Pilot Freight Services (Pilot), a global provider of end-to-end and last mile solutions specialising in big and bulky B2C and B2B freight, to AP Moller – Maersk (Maersk) for approximately USD1.7 billion. ATL and BCI acquired Pilot in 2016 after identifying a structural shortage in capacity required to meet the needs of shippers and consumers, which was created by the rapid secular growth in the big and bulky segment of e-commerce home delivery and installation.   ATL and BCI partnered with management to build Pilot from a family-owned
YPrime, a specialist in cloud-based eClinical solutions, has acquired Tryl, a software development company with a unique patient engagement solution that brings together beautiful design, dynamic personalisation, and applied behavioural science that is designed to boost engagement, reduce dropouts, and deliver outcomes in clinical trials. The acquisition includes the transfer of all staff, development capabilities, and intellectual properties to YPrime, and will integrate with YPrime’s Patient Engagement Technologies solutions.    Tryl’s tools provide an experience that is personalized, predictive, empathetic, and relative to the overall patient journey. Tryl’s proprietary engagement score is designed to reduce patient dropout rates. 
Inflexion is to acquire enviolo, a specialist in the e-bike components market. Headquartered in the Netherlands and with additional operations in Austin, Texas, enviolo designs and develops transmission systems for e-bikes mainly for the European and North American markets.  The company’s proprietary technology enables cyclists to intuitively adjust the gear ratio, making riding safer and more enjoyable. 
Sprinto, a compliance automation platform for fast growing SaaS companies, has raised USD10 million in Series A funding led by Elevation Capital with participation from Accel, and Blume Ventures. The funding will be used for team expansion across key functions and R&D to ensure long-term growth. Earlier, in January 2020, the company had raised USD1.5 million in seed funding from Blume Ventures. Reflecting this expansion, Sprinto will open its first North American office, in Utah, by this quarter’s end and will ramp up North American hiring. Fast-growth utilities scale-up The Bunch has partnered with London-based investment firm, Pario Ventures, to facilitate its imminent launch in the US. The Bristol-based business, which consolidates all household bills into one monthly payment and grants individual liability for tenants, will initially set up operations in Boston and New York. This follows a highly successful year of trading for the company, having grown by 350 per cent. With a majority student customer base, The Bunch has the opportunity to take hold of a vast market-grabbing opportunity in the US, where there are more students residing in Boston and New York alone
M Group Services, a leading provider of services to essential infrastructure markets in the UK and Ireland, has completed the acquisition of Babcock International Group PLC’s Overhead Line Power business for GBP75 million. Babcock’s Overhead Line Power business serves clients including National Grid, Scottish Power Energy Networks and Western Power Distribution.   Following the acquisition, the business will be rebranded to form part of Morrison Energy Services, sitting alongside and enhancing existing electricity, gas and green energy capabilities, within M Group Services’ Energy division. Fintern, a UK credit technology platform, has secured GBP8 million of new capital in its latest funding round. The investment, which brings the Company’s total capital raised to GBP40 million and will help drive expansion plans, was led by Hambro Perks, an international investment firm focused on private investing. The investment round also included an equity investment from Fintern’s primary debt provider, Varengold Bank, and other high-net-worth individuals. nThrive, a healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform provider backed by Clearlake Capital Group, is to acquire PELITAS, a provider of healthcare patient access, digital patient intake, and front-end RCM software solutions. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. The addition of PELITAS’s integrated patient access and digital patient engagement software solutions, awarded Best in KLAS for 2019, 2020 and 2022, will advance nThrive’s position as a leading software provider in front-end revenue cycle management.
Private equity firm Growthdeck has closed an oversubscribed funding round for Kelda – a specialist in water, energy, and carbon saving showers. Fundraising for the company, led by Growthdeck, amounted to GBP1.35 million exceeding its original target of GBP1.1 million by nearly 25 per cent. This is Kelda’s second fundraise with Growthdeck.
The EQT Mid Market US fund (EQT Private Equity), together with the Verdane Capital IX fund (Verdane) have agreed to sell Forsta to Press Ganey, a specialist in patient, member, employee and consumer experience across the healthcare ecosystem. Headquartered in London, UK, Forsta is a provider of customer experience and market research software and services to enterprise customers and market research professionals.
