Enlightenment closes oversubscribed Fund V at $825m

Enlightenment Capital, a private equity firm specialising in Aerospace, Defence, Government, and Technology (ADG&T), has held the final close of its fifth investment fund, which was oversubscribed, with $825m in capital commitments.

Enlightenment Capital Solutions Fund V exceeded its initial target of $600m and its original hard cap of $750m, reflecting strong investor demand from a diverse pool of investors, including pension funds, asset managers, endowments, family offices, and insurance companies.

The capital raised marks a 50% increase from its previous fund.

The new fund will allow Enlightenment Capital, which now manages over ¢2.3bn in assets, to continue its established investment strategy, which includes both controlling and minority stakes in middle-market ADG&T companies. The firm’s current portfolio spans companies generating over $1.9bn in revenue and employing more than 7,000 people.

According to a press statement, the new fund will target investments in critical sectors such as aerospace, cybersecurity, space systems, and infrastructure protection.
