Ember Infrastructure’s debut Fund I has closed with capital commitments of over $340 million, according to a report by AltAssets. The new fund, which will invest in the energy transition and resource efficiency sectors, has completed three investments to date, including the formation of bioenergy platform ReGenerate Energy, an investment in energy storage systems Caban Systems, and an investment in solar developer SunShare. Future investments will be aimed at assets and companies that decarbonise the economy, use resources efficiently and focus on sustainable processes across the value chain.
Algebris Investment’s debut PE fund has raised €200 million at its first close, half of the fund’s €400m target, according to a report by AltAssets. The investment strategy for the Algebris Green Transition Fund will see it invest in energy transition, circular economy and smart cities, and agritech sectors. Investee companies will all have proven earnings potential, resilient business models and sustainable long term strategies. The fund will be targeting companies in Italy and other Southern EU countries.
Algebris Investments’ first private equity fund, the Algebris Green Transition Fund has closed its first fundraising round with commitments of €200 million. Committed investors include institutional entities in Italy and more widely in Europe. Algebris is targeting a total raise of €400 million over the next twelve months.   The fund is at the frontier of sustainable investing and is managed in accordance with Article 9 of the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation. Hamburg-based family office Lennertz & Co (LCO) has added to its umbrella funds series with the launch of the LCO Venture US II fund. Similar to the preceding funds, investors gain access to the best venture capital fund managers in the US. The investments in the selected target funds are focused on the technology sector.  Venture capital investments in the US have been in high demand worldwide for some years now. Such funds are usually heavily oversubscribed, and the fund initiators can choose the investors.   The Lennertz & Co Venture US II will comprise approximately ten US target funds.
Shore Capital Partners, a strategic private equity firm focused on microcap investing, has closed its second Food & Beverage fund, Shore Capital Partners Food and Beverage Fund II (F&B Fund II) with $291.75 million in Capital commitments. Shore now manages a total committed capital base of approximately $3 billion.   F&B Fund II is led by Shore Founder and Managing Partner Justin Ishbia, Partner Richard Boos, and Principals Tom Smithburg, Jeff Smart and Jeff Smith. Following the recent launch of £5 million Boost Fund 1, Capital Pilot has announced the first five startup businesses backed by the fund on the basis of an Investability Rating. BlackPeak Capital has held the final closing of the Southeast Europe Growth Equity Fund at €126 million, surpassing the fund’s original target of €120 million. BlackPeak Southeast Europe Growth Equity Fund is based in Luxembourg and is backed by the European Investment Fund, the EBRD, the IFC, Erste Asset Management, and leading regional pension funds.  The fund has already invested in two companies – Verdino, a leading regional meat replacement producer, and euShipments, a leading regional integrator of logistical services for e-commerce shops. ARCH Venture Partners has closed ARCH Venture Fund XII with $2.975 billion to invest in the creation, development and funding of early stage biotechnology companies. This new fund follows the January 2021 announcement of the $1.941 Billion ARCH Venture Fund XI. ARCH investments made from Fund XII will reflect the firm’s focus on companies formed around breakthrough technologies. Foresight Group (Foresight), a listed regional private equity and infrastructure investment manager, has held the first close of the Foresight North East Fund. The Fund is targeting a £60 million raise and has been made possible through funding from Durham County Council’s Pension Fund, from which £18 million has been committed to the launch, with further support from Teesside Pension Fund. Building on Foresight’s strong track record of working with high growth, established smaller companies across the UK, the new Fund will provide equity investments of up to £5 million.  The fund will support companies across all sectors with headquarters
4Trans, a fintech specialising in financial products for supply chain and logistics companies, has secured €18 million in investment from backers including Atmos, Tera Ventures, and Lighthouse. Impact investment fund management firm based in the UK, Advance Global Capital has also extended a revolving credit facility to the firm. 4Trans will use the equity funding to strengthen domestic operations, expand to Poland, develop its platform and grow its international team. With the debt funding provided, it will be supporting the working capital needs of small and medium sized businesses in the region.  The announcement follows a period of rapid growth
