Rotunda Capital Partners (Rotunda) has closed Rotunda Capital Partners Fund III with $405 million in total capital commitments. The Fund was oversubscribed above its initial target of $295 million.  Fund III received capital commitments from a diverse set of investors, including public pensions, corporate pensions, insurance companies, healthcare companies, multi-manager funds, consultants, and family offices. Rotunda is especially thankful for the continued support by way of fund commitments from several former Rotunda portfolio company executives and family-founders with whom we have partnered in the past.
Conversion Capital, an early-stage venture firm, has closed its oversubscribed and largest fund to date – the $122 million Fund III backed by institutions, family offices, and over a dozen founders. The new capital will fuel Conversion Capital’s investment into 25-30 pre-seed to Series A fintech companies building software, cloud infrastructure, and data technologies. Venture capital firm Mountain Group Partners (Mountain Group) has closed the its third fund, MGP Venture Fund III (MGP Fund III), above target at $128 million. Mountain Group will continue its strategy of investing in early-stage companies within human and animal life sciences and disruptive technologies. MGP Fund III has already made five investments including two in the fast-growing animal health sector. Seed-stage venture capital firm True Wealth Ventures has held the close of its oversubscribed Fund II with $35 million in capital commitments. The seed-stage VC firm focuses on maximizing the number of women in its funds to invest in women-led companies. Fund II’s close follows True Wealth Ventures’ 2018 $19.1 million Fund I close — the largest venture capital fund ever raised at that time with an explicit gender-diversity strategy. Twin Bridge Capital Partners (Twin Bridge) a private equity firm that targets investments in the North American small and lower middle market, has closed its fifth flagship lower middle market fund, Pacific Street Fund V, with more than $880 million in capital commitments. Fund V was oversubscribed and exceeded its $800 million target. Twin Bridge has raised over $3.9 billion in capital and has invested in more than 200 funds and co-investments since the firm’s inception in 2005. Illumina, a specialist in DNA sequencing and array-based technologies, has invested in Time Boost Capital I LP, a £30 million genomics venture fund dedicated to providing match funding to startups graduating from Illumina Accelerator Cambridge with the aim to advance breakthroughs in human health. Illumina Accelerator, located in both San Francisco and Cambridge, is a company creation engine that partners with entrepreneurs to create genomics startups and advance innovative applications. Plural, a new investment platform started by the founders and backers of some of Europe’s most significant tech companies, has launched, along with a €250 million early stage venture fund to back the next generation of founders with global ambitions.
MaC Venture Capital, a seed-stage venture capital firm based in Los Angeles and Silicon Valley, has successfully raised a $203 million Fund II, building on the $110 million seed-stage fund secured in March 2021. MaC Venture Capital, a majority Black-owned firm, will use Fund II capital to double down on their cultural investment framework, which has successfully supported technology startups who are shaping culture, increasing access and resources to underserved communities, and meeting consumer and industry needs. Minority-owned, emerging real estate investment manager, Brasa Capital Management LLC (Brasa), has successfully closed Brasa Real Estate Fund II (Fund II), at its hard cap of $450 million. With an original target of $300 million, Brasa has now exceeded its fundraising goal on its first two discretionary investment vehicles. Heligan Group has closed its debut fundraise for its Heligan Investments business. The Heligan Private Equity I fund will mainly target buyout investments (but will also consider minority investments on a case-by-case basis) in high growth technology companies with enterprise values between £5 million and £50 million and with a focus on the National Security, Crime Prevention and Public Safety sectors.  Heligan’s Partner led team is supported by a global network of distinguished professionals from the technology, law enforcement, military and intelligence fields, adding an invaluable layer of insight and influence.
