DiscountRamps.com, a n online retailer of hauling and transportation products and a Rotunda Capital Partners portfolio company, has acquired Heavy Duty Ramps LLC, an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of aluminium ramps.  The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Utilising its patented designs, Kewaskum, Wisconsin-based Heavy Duty Ramps creates and distributes ramps, loading systems and other products for use with trucks, trailers, airplanes and many other applications. Discount Ramps offers more than 11,000 products, primarily servicing the powersports, mobility, recreational, commercial, transportation, military and industrial markets. Porky’s BBQ, a London-based BBQ restaurant chain with five sites across the capital, is seeking GBP650,000 in investment via Crowdcube for its next phase of growth. The campaign will last 30 days and launches on 18 May.  Porky’s BBQ is a family-run, Memphis-style restaurant with sites in Camden, Shoreditch, Bankside, Crouch End and a recently opened site in Chelsea. Lawson Products, a distributor of products and services to the MRO marketplace, has acquired FB Feeney Hardware in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The transaction closed on 9 May, 2016. FB Feeney Hardware has been serving the industrial market in Toronto and the surrounding area since 1952 and is known as a fleet specialist. The company’s products and value proposition are similar to that of Lawson Products’ and include vendor managed inventory services. With this acquisition, Lawson Products is gaining three experienced sales representatives. Tom Feeney, who has led the company for the last 38 years, has agreed to join Lawson Products.
Peer-to-peer alternative finance platform Assetz Capital has launched the 30-Day Access Account (30DAA), with Provision Fund, the fourth specialist investment account available to investors on the platform. The new account follows on from the success of the Quick Access Account (QAA), launched in October, which to date has seen over GBP50 million flow through it, funding UK SMEs. Whereas the QAA account has a current rate of 3.75 per cent gross per annum, the new 30DAA has a current rate of 4.25 per cent gross per annum whilst also benefiting from the added protection of a discretionary Provision Fund. A fund managed by private equity investment firm Cloud Equity Group has acquired CloudAccess.net, a cloud-based hosting and support platform for Joomla and WordPress based content managers with offices worldwide. Kevin Wilson, Managing Partner at Cloud Equity Group, says: “CloudAccess.net has done a phenomenal job at executing within a niche segment of the internet hosting market by developing a proprietary Cloud Control Panel (CCP) specifically catering to Joomla and WordPress users. Global alternative asset firm TPG today announced the final close of its latest North American- and European-focused private equity fund, TPG Partners VII. Wasserstein & Co, on behalf of its private equity fund Wasserstein Partners III, has acquired Moss Inc (Moss), a provider of highly engineered, three-dimensional fabric structures and customised environmental branding solutions. Terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed. Founded in 1975, and headquartered in Elk Grove, IL, Moss transforms physical environments into powerful branded experiences. Moss’ three-dimensional visual communication structures and displays enrich marketing and merchandising venues, including retail destinations, tradeshows, corporate environments, museums and entertainment events. Salvepar has sold MultiPlan Group to Helman & Friedman for EUR29.7 million, which equates to a 3.7x multiple on the firm’s original investment. Salvepar originally invested USD20 million in the acquisition of MultiPlan alongside Starr Investment Holdings in March 2014. The closing of the sale transaction is expected to take place before the end of Q2 2016.
Investec Bank’s globally recognised aviation finance arm has successfully closed a USD1 billion operating lease transaction with Emirates Airline, the world’s largest operator of the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft.  The USD1 billion transaction has facilitated the delivery and sale and leaseback of four A380-800s, the world’s largest passenger jet, to Dubai-headquartered Emirates over the past four months. The aircraft involved are of 2013 and 2016 vintages. Investec has acquired the 2013 vintages aircraft from Stellwagen Finance, the holding company for Aviation Finance Company (AFC).
