TV production and distribution company Twofour Group has been acquired by ITV plc for an initial cash consideration of GBP55m.  Livingstone’s Media & Technology team advised the shareholders of Twofour Group, including mid-market private equity investor LDC and the company’s management team, on the transaction. The performance of French private equity since inception, measured at the end of 2014, totalled an average 10.1 per cent IRR net of charges per year, up from 9.5 per cent at end 2013 on a like-for-like basis. Over a 10-year horizon the average IRR increases to 11.3 per cent net (compared with 10.9 per cent like-for-like at end 2013). That’s according to the latest annual report by the French private equity and venture association, AFIC (Association Française des Investisseurs pour la Croissance) and EY. These figures reflect the robust long-term profitability of this asset class and the stable performance.

Orangefield Group is to acquire USA2Europe, a corporate service provider providing Global Outsourcing services to North American Technology companies.  With this acquisition Orangefield has increased its global presence, including USA2Europe’s representatives, with 24 additional countries – reaching a total of 45 countries where client support is offered. The Co-operators is increasing its pledge to the Canadian Co-operative Investment Fund (CCIF) to CAD10 million. The Fund, which will be launched in the coming months, will support the development and expansion of Canadian co-operatives with loans and other funding sourced from the co-op sector. A more coherent regulatory environment is needed if investors are to prevent “runaway climate change”, according to Donald MacDonald, who chairs the Institutional Investor Group on Climate Change (IIGCC). “We have the capital, but the right policies and regulatory frameworks are not in place,” said MacDonald. “In many cases energy regulation, pensions regulation and insurance regulation are simply not integrated. The value of investment fund business in Guernsey grew by GBP2.8 billion (1.28 per cent) during the first quarter of this year.
