Audax Group has partnered with management to acquire Katena Products, a provider of precision ophthalmic instruments and therapeutics to physician offices, hospitals, and surgical centres.  Founded in 1975 and headquartered in Denville, New Jersey, Katena’s product offering includes precision surgical instruments, single-use devices, and specialty biologics that are sold into over 100 countries through a network of direct salespeople and distributors. Audax acquired Katena from Cortec Group, a private equity firm based in New York. Quadrille Capital has held an initial closing of its new fund Quadrille Technologies III at EUR65 million. The fund is aiming to raise EUR100 million, with a hard cap at EUR150 million. It is the first innovation-focused fund (FPCI) for Quadrille Capital since becoming independent from Quilvest.   This initial closing includes several institutional investors, most of whom participated in the previous fund. The trust placed in the fund by BPIFRANCE, CNP, AG2R LA MONDIALE, ABN AMRO and PRÉVOIR Group, as well as European Family Offices, highlights the proven track record of a team with nearly 15 years of experience.

Private equity firm Silverfleet Capital is to acquire Masai Clothing Company ApS, a Danish womenswear clothing brand.  This is the first investment Silverfleet has made from its new EUR850 million fund, Silverfleet Capital II, which closed last month.   Masai is headquartered in Copenhagen and wholesales and retails its own-designed clothing in over 25 countries around the world.  Its core markets are the Nordic Region (where it has 18 retail outlets in Denmark, Sweden and Norway), UK and Germany and its clothing can be purchased at 1,340 points of sale as far away as Australia, USA and Canada. Union Group and China Communication Construction Company, one of the biggest engineering and construction companies in the world, have signed a deal to develop infrastructure projects across the Latin America region. The two companies form a consortium that will first tender for a Uruguay Government contract to restore and maintain a 140km railway track, involving an initial investment of around USD150 million.
