An affiliate of Veritas Capital has acquired Emergency Communications Network (ECN), a provider of Software as a Service (SaaS) unified critical communications, from The Riverside Company. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Actility, a provider of network solutions and managed information systems for the Internet of Things (IoT) market, has secured a USD25 million funding round led by Ginko Ventures.  Ginko Ventures leads a prestigious group of investors including tier-one telcos KPN, Orange, Swisscom and Foxconn, along with the existing investors Fonds Ecotechnologies managed by Bpifrance Investissement, Idinvest Partners, and Truffle Capital. Nekton Global, an energy merchant business chaired by Gerard Lopez, the financier behind Skype, has acquired a 50 per cent stake in Rise Capital AB, a specialist private equity business focussed on pursing infrastructure investments in Russia. The infrastructure construction industry has experienced rapid early stage growth driven by substantial government backing creating extensive opportunities for international investor participation. Founded in 2013, Rise Capital has built up an extensive track record and expertise in the sector, working alongside some of Russia’s leading construction and engineering groups, as well as financial and banking institutions.   The partnership between Nekton Global and
Milestone Pharmaceuticals Inc., a clinical stage cardiovascular company in Phase 2, has closed a USD17 million Series B financing.  The round was led by Domain Associates and included participation from all of Milestone's existing investors including Fonds de solidarité FTQ (FSTQ), Pappas Ventures, BDC Capital, GO Capital, and iNovia Capital. The funding will be used to complete Phase 2 clinical development of MSP-2017. In connection with this financing, Domain's Debra Liebert will join Milestone's board of directors. JTC has been selected to administer Amedeo Air Four Plus, an aircraft acquisition and leasing investment company, as part of its recent successful Listing on the Specialist Fund Market of the London Stock Exchange (LSE). Amedeo Air Four Plus plans to acquire initial aircraft assets of approximately USD1.1 billion, increasing by up to an additional USD600 million by year-end 2015, with the scope to acquire further assets in the future. Nimrod Capital acted as the company’s Placing Agent and will be the long-term corporate and shareholder adviser. Kirin Media Ventures, a Los Angeles-based film finance and management company, has launched its inaugural USD25 million investment fund. An affiliate of private equity investment firm HIG Capital (HIG) has acquired ATX Networks Corporation (ATX) a designer and developer of patented, radio frequency (RF) and digital video processing equipment used by cable operators and a growing number of private video networks, A/V integrators, and telecommunication companies.  Cable operators rely on the Company’s RF equipment to enable increased bandwidth to their subscribers, while ATX’s growing suite of non-RF products provides solutions for network operators to efficiently deliver video and data services to end users, including but not limited to transcoding and encoding, bulk video transition gateways, and content streaming products.

OMERS Private Equity (OPE), the private equity investment arm of the OMERS pension plan, is to acquire Environmental Resources Management (ERM) from Charterhouse Capital Partners for an enterprise value of USD1.7 billion.  The Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) will co-invest in the transaction.
