KKR Asset Management (KAM), a sub-investment grade manager wholly-owned by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, has agreed to provide EUR220m long term financing to Selecta.
The investment is part of a comprehensive re-financing of the company’s capital structure, providing flexibility for investments and implementation of its ongoing growth strategy.

Tissue diagnostics specialist Definiens has closed a EUR15 million funding round led by venture capital firm Wellington Partners.
Gilde Healthcare co-led the financing round and was joined by other existing investors Cipio Partners and TVM Capital in the financing.
In conjunction with the financing, Dr Rainer Strohmenger, general partner and managing director for Wellington, will join Definiens' board of directors.

Maven Capital Partners has completed a multi-million pound investment backing the management team of Yorkshire based Just Trays (JT) to acquire the business from Gresham Private Equity.
JT was established in 1988 and has since grown to become a manufacturer of shower trays and related accessories, with all product design, development and production undertaken at its main facility in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
The business sells its range of products direct to trade partners in the construction and housing market and now accounts for around 28 per cent of the UK market.

JHL Biotech has closed a Series B financing round of USD35 million, led by new investors Milestone Capital and a consortium of Taiwan venture capitalists and individuals.
The consortium includes President International Development Corp, Fubon Financial Holdings, Taishin Financial Holdings, TaiAn Technologies, Hotung Group, Dr Allen Chao (founder of Watson Pharmaceuticals), and existing Series A shareholders China Development Industrial Bank, Biomark Capital, and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.

A group led by FINESP Holdings II, an affiliate of private equity firm Warburg Pincus, is to acquire a 50 per cent stake in Santander’s current custody operations in Spain, Mexico and Brazil.
The remaining 50 per cent will be owned by Santander.
The investor group, which is being advised on the deal by law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, also includes Temasek, a Singapore based investment company.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2014.

The Abraaj Group has submitted a mandatory tender offer to acquire, through one of its funds, up to 100 per cent of the shares of Cairo Medical Center‫ SAE, which is listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX).
The mandatory tender offer is conditional to 51 per cent of the total outstanding shares being tendered.
Abraaj has already obtained irrevocable sale undertakings from the shareholders owning 50.09 per cent of the company.

First Data Holdings, the direct parent company of First Data Corporation, has secured commitments to purchase approximately USD3.5 billion of its common equity in a private placement.
The net proceeds from the private placement will be used to strengthen the company's balance sheet through repaying portions of its debt, allowing the company to focus additional capital on accelerating its transformation to a solutions and innovation company that helps First Data clients grow their businesses.

Livingstone’s industrial sector team has advised the shareholders of St Neots Packaging, including investor Endless LLP, on the sale of the business to flexible and rigid plastic packaging manufacturer Coveris.
St Neots, which operates out of two facilities in Cambridgeshire, UK, is a design-led manufacturer of carton board packaging solutions for the food service and food retail markets.
The company also provides its customers with low-cost sourcing through its Hong Kong procurement operation and film-licensing-led children's meal and cinema snack boxes.

Performance measurement firm Silent Edge has received a GBP2.2 million injection from investment firm Rockpool Investments.
The deal will bring Silent Edge's skills assessment software to a range of new industries, enabling businesses to join the current era of data-driven talent management.
Rockpool has provided GBP1.8 million equity in the form of EIS-qualifying shares together with a venture loan, and taken a significant minority ownership position in Silent Edge.
Silent Edge is Rockpool's seventh investment of 2014 and follows deals with Growth Power, Macro Assembly, Clarity Diamonds and Rockpool's third crematorium, South Leicester Memorial. So far this year Rockpool has invested a total of GBP24.2
ClearCare, a software platform for home care agencies, has secured a USD11 million investment led by venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP).
Cambia Health Solutions also participated in the round, and was joined by existing investors Voyager Capital, Qualcomm Ventures, Harbor Pacific Capital, and City National Bank.
