IBS Capital has sold its equity investment in IQuum to Roche.
IBS made its initial capital investment in IQuum in 1999 shortly after the firm was founded and has remained its largest outside investor over the past 15 years.
David Taft, the president of IBS, also served as a director on IQuum's board of directors since 1999. During this period, IQuum developed groundbreaking technology in molecular diagnostics.

Surgery Center Holdings, a portfolio company of HIG Capital, is to acquire 100 per cent of the stock of Symbion Holdings Corporation, a portfolio company of Crestview Partners, for a total purchase price of USD792 million.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and required regulatory approvals.
The transaction creates a portfolio of approximately 100 healthcare facilities and complementary ancillary services. The combined business will be one of the leading independent Ambulatory Surgery Centre (ASC) operators in the US, providing patients with low-cost surgical services. Actis has completed a two-part transaction that has seen the firm’s subsidiary, Umeme Holdings Ltd (UHL), sell a total 45.7 per cent of Ugandan electricity distribution company Umeme Ltd for USD98m.
The final step in the transaction was the sale of shares totalling 6.7 per cent of the company for USD13m to Ugandan retail investors and Umeme management and directors.
Stanbic acted as lead transaction advisor and Stanbic and Rencap as joint bookrunners.

Oak Hill Capital Partners is to acquire managed, hosted data centre and IT infrastructure services provider Pulsant from Bridgepoint Development Capital (BDC).
Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The transaction is unconditional and is expected to complete in the coming weeks.
Pulsant was formed in October 2010 when BDC acquired Lumison, a provider of connectivity, hosting and managed IT services. This was the first step in a strategy to create a 'one stop shop' managed and hosted IT services supplier in the underserved UK mid-market.

Hill-Rom Holdings is to purchase TRUMPF Medical, the medical unit of the privately held TRUMPF Group, for approximately USD250 million in cash.
The transaction is expected to close late in the company's fiscal fourth quarter and will be immediately accretive to adjusted earnings per share.

Actis, a pan-emerging market private equity investor, has acquired the majority interest in three power assets in Cameroon from The AES Corporation.
Actis will pay USD202 million net of closing price adjustments for a 56 per cent stake in Cameroon’s national integrated utility, Société Nationale d’Electricité (SONEL), and in two independent power plants, Kribi and Dibamba.
SONEL provides 933MW of generation and supplies electricity to over 800,000 customer connections throughout the country, while Kribi and Dibamba contribute a combined 302 MW towards Cameroon’s generation capacity.
