Nordstjernan’s wholly owned subsidiary Rosti has acquired 100 per cent of the shares in the US company Plastic Components, Inc (PCI). Rosti develops and manufactures injection-moulded plastic components, while PCI offers plastic injection moulding in North America, with long-standing business relationships with a diverse customer base.  Rosti is part of Nordstjernan’s Industry sector, which accounts for approximately one-fifth of Nordstjernan’s net asset value. In the Industry sector, Nordstjernan invests in industrial companies with an established business and which have long-term global growth potential.
Hunter Point Capital (HPC), an investment firm focused on taking minority stakes in middle-market alternative asset managers, has made a strategic investment in Iron Park Capital (IPC), a global alternative investment manager with experience investing across public and private credit markets. All proceeds of the investment will go to IPC’s balance sheet. IPC’s investment process, management and day-to-day operations will remain unchanged. Terms of the investment have not been disclosed. IPC was established in 2019 to offer credit solutions designed to meet the needs of institutional investors and borrowers. IPC focuses on creating long-term strategic partnerships with institutional investors globally.
Symbridge Holdings, a digital asset exchange built specifically for future-minded traders, has secured a USD9 million strategic investment from newcomer investor Traxys North America (Traxys), a physical commodity trader and merchant in the metals sector. One of the world’s biggest commodity traders, Traxys, is diversifying into new trading markets with its investment in Symbridge. The partnership will also support Symbridge in meeting increasing investor demand for digital representation of physical commodities.
The RD Fund (Retinal Degeneration Fund) – the venture arm of the Foundation Fighting Blindness – has invested in a USD115 million syndicated Series B round for SalioGen Therapeutics to support the company’s preclinical research into novel genetic medicines for inherited retinal disorders.
Assent Compliance Inc. (Assent), a leader in supply chain sustainability management, announced today that it has raised USD350 million in a funding round led by Vista Equity Partners (Vista), a global investment firm focused exclusively on enterprise software, data and technology-enabled businesses. This is one of the largest raises in Canadian software company history and establishes Assent in unicorn status, valued at more than USD1 billion. Vista’s Foundation Fund, which invests in middle-market companies seeking to scale and accelerate their growth trajectory, led the investment. IVD company Virtue Diagnostics has closed a USD100 million Series B funding round jointly led by Sequoia China and Morningside Ventures. ORIZA Holdings also participated in the round alongside existing investors Lilly Asia Ventures and PerkinElmer Ventures. HAOYUE Capital acted as the exclusive financial advisor. Virtue Diagnostics is a global, platform-based IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic) company focusing on providing affordable clinical solutions at all disease stages including very early screening, initial diagnosis, treatment monitoring and minimal residual disease management.

Alternative asset manager Blue Owl Capital (Blue Owl) is to bring its institutional quality middle market lending capabilities to Canadian accredited investors. The initiative positions Blue Owl as one of the first US-based private credit managers to offer direct lending capabilities to onshore Canadian investors.   Canadian investors will have access to the institutional share class of Owl Rock Core Income Corp (ORCIC), a business development company managed by Owl Rock, a division of Blue Owl. Rainier Partners has invested in Wilmar Corporation and its subsidiaries (Wilmar), a supplier, distributor, and category manager of tools and equipment to the automotive aftermarket and other industries. Rainier’s investment will help accelerate Wilmar’s growth in additional product categories, end markets, and geographies, while preserving the Company’s unique culture and customer focus. The Cantalini family will retain a significant ownership interest in the Company alongside Rainier.
Middle market private equity firm One Equity Partners (OEP) has acquired a majority interest in Rosboro from Wynnchurch Capital. Rosboro is a manufacturer of glued laminated timber (glulam), an engineered wood product used in a wide range of building and construction applications, and a variety of lumber products.  Financial terms of the private deal, which will see Wynnchurch Capital remain a significant minority shareholder, have not been disclosed.
