Gen Cap America has partnered with management to acquire Griffin Gear (Griffin), a South Carolina-based manufacturer of replacement gearing and gearbox rebuilds for a wide variety of industrial applications. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Linklaters has advised the global co-ordinators, mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners, including JP Morgan, Credit Suisse and BNP Paribas, on a revolving credit facility (RCF), senior secured notes and term loan B for the global French food retailer, the Casino Group.
The group announced this month the syndication of a EUR1 billion term loan B and placement of a EUR800 million senior secured notes, both maturing in January 2024. The announcement was well-received in the market with both the bond and loan oversubscribed.

Gresham House Renewable Energy VCT 1 (GV1O & GV1A) and Gresham House Renewable Energy VCT 2 (GV2O & GV2A) (the Gresham House VCTs) have made a new investment of GBP1.2 million into bio-bean, the world’s largest recycler of waste coffee grounds.
This investment represents 30 per cent of the GBP4 million funding round announced by bio-bean in April 2019. The Gresham House VCTs’ investment forms the final part of that round, and values bio-bean at GBP7.6 million.

Beechbrook Capital, an SME private debt fund lender, has appointed Conor Molloy as chairman of its new Irish SME fund which has made its first investment in the Republic of Ireland.
Beechbrook Capital Ireland SME I is providing a EUR7.5 million finance package for Bio-Medical Research Limited (BMR), a world leader in electrical muscle stimulation technology for the fitness and wellness sector.

Global Healthcare Opportunities, or GHO Capital Partners, a European specialist investor in healthcare, has held the final close of its second fund, GHO Capital Fund II, at its hard cap of EUR975 million.
GHO Capital says the fund is the largest specialist private equity fund dedicated to European healthcare.
Approximately 50 per cent larger than the firm’s maiden fund raised in 2015, Fund II is significantly oversubscribed, exceeding a target of EUR800 million. Since it was founded in 2014, GHO has grown its total assets under management (AUM) to EUR2 billion, making it Europe’s largest healthcare-dedicated investment firm.

The offshore region recorded more M&A transactions in the first half of 2019 than in the same time period over any of the past five years, according to a report released by offshore law firm Appleby.
The latest edition of Offshore-i, an Appleby report that provides data and insight on merger and acquisition activity in the major offshore financial centres, focuses on transactions announced over the first six months of 2019. While the total number of deals was above the same period in the previous year, total deal value was down on previous comparable periods.

Standish Management, a provider of fund administration services to private equity, venture capital, and real estate managers, is to acquire Halsey Group, a Luxembourg-based fund and corporate services provider dedicated to international private equity and real estate investment firms.
Terms of the deal have not been announced.
The acquisition extends Standish’s service offering and brings together Halsey’s long-tenured team and large client base across the US and UK, with Standish’s reputation and expertise across PE, VC, and Real Estate funds. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and upon closing Halsey Group will change its name to Standish Management Luxembourg.
Origis Energy has sold a 41MW ground-mounted solar PV portfolio to ForVEI II, a joint venture (JV) between VEI Green and Foresight Group (Foresight).
The 41MW portfolio comprises 34 ground-mounted solar PV projects located in Italy totalling c.37MW and one ground-mounted solar plant of 4MW in Slovakia. The solar plants have been fully operational since 2010-2011 and are remunerated under a long-term Feed in Tariff (FiT) scheme awarded by the GSE.
Financial details relating to the transaction have not been disclosed.
