NovaQuest Capital Management, a healthcare and life sciences focused private investment firm, has held the final close of NovaQuest Private Equity Fund I (Fund I) with USD275 million in total capital commitments. Aruwa Capital Management (Aruwa), a female founded and led private equity firm focussed on Nigeria and Ghana, has launched a USD20 million co-investment vehicle. Aruwa‘s mission is to provide patient growth capital to established and rapidly growing companies in the small to lower middle market and it expects to execute four to five investments, averaging US USD1-5 million, over the next 24 months.   To date, capital has been raised from international and West African based family offices and high-net-worth individuals. The Vehicle is domiciled in Mauritius and management have committed capital demonstrating an alignment of interest with co-investors.  
CFA UK’s Certificate in ESG Investing, the first qualification of its kind in the UK, will be available to investment professionals from December. The Certificate has been introduced to meet the increased demand for ESG knowledge and skills in the investment sector and is already seeing high uptake.   In the UK, over 500 candidates are already signed up to complete the course; they will be able to take the exam from 2 December 2019.   The launch follows a pilot programme conducted in September 2019, which was designed to ensure that the training materials developed for the qualification were
Fintech company Capitolis has completed a USD40 million Series B funding round led by Spark Capital and SVB Capital. Existing investors, Index Ventures, Sequoia Capital and S Capital also participated in the round, bringing the total capital raised to date to USD70 million. European peer-to-peer lending marketplace TWINO Group has reached a funding milestone of EUR1 billion loans issued since its inception in 2009, with half of the loans issued in the past three years. Clocktower Technology Ventures (CTV), the venture capital investment arm of Clocktower Group, a client-focused alternative investment firm employing opportunistic strategies across public and private markets, has held the final close of the firm’s second financial services innovation fund, Clocktower Technologies II (CTV2). Global alternative asset management firm HIG Capital (HIG) has closed the HIG Middle Market LBO Fund III with aggregate capital commitments of USD3.1 billion, well exceeding its target. The Fund will continue the strategy of HIG Middle Market’s two predecessor funds, by making private equity investments in middle market companies, primarily in North America.
