Impax Asset Management, the investment manager focused on the renewable energy and related environmental sectors, has appointed Daniel von Preyss as managing director of private equity for the Impax New Energy Investors LP fund.
Von Preyss will be responsible for leading transactions, assisting with exits and trading with buyers of renewable power generation within NEI.
He has close to 20 years of business and senior transactional experience with blue chip companies within the energy and utility sectors. Most recently, von Preyss was responsible for Babcock & Brown’s Northern European infrastructure activities where he focused on regulated utilities, gas storage and broader power generation.
Prior to this, he was director of corporate finance for the European energy and utilities team at Deutsche Bank with a strong focus on M&A activity in Europe and a member of Citigroup’s utilities team.

The appointment of von Preyss brings the NEI investment team to a total of seven members.
