iM Square, a European investment and development platform dedicated to asset management, has secured a new financing commitment from Eurazeo, one of its founding shareholders. Eurazeo is committed to support iM Square’s investments over the next few years and is expected to become its reference shareholder. Metro Bank has provided the highly prestigious Z Hotels with GBP18 million of funding. The capital will be used by the company to acquire a five-story office building just off Trafalgar Square in central London. The Finance Durham Fund, established by Durham County Council and managed by Maven Capital Partners (Maven), has helped raise GBP850,000 for insurance technology start-up, Honcho Markets Ltd. The Finance Durham Fund provided GBP150,000 of the total investment with CrowdCube investors providing the remaining GBP700,000. New York-based private equity firm Delos Capital has acquired Sage Metals Limited, a manufacturer of specialty metal products serving the North American electrical, power utility, industrial, and drainage end markets. Sage Metals was founded over 30 years ago and is based in Delhi, India.   Delos acquired Sage from its founders, Vinod K Agarwal and SP Agarwal, and partnered with one of the owners, R Krishnan, and a new US based management team in the transaction. GALA Kerzen, a leading manufacturer of candles backed by Equistone Partners Europe (Equistone), has acquired a majority stake in the Berlin-based candle manufacturer JuwelKerze (JuwelKerze). This follows GALA Kerzen’s recent acquisition of a majority stake in Indian manufacturer Ramesh Flowers.   Through these acquisitions, GALA Kerzen is positioning itself widely and developing significant synergies within a global network. Noerr has advised the Lendico Group, a specialist in business lending, on the first major takeover of a fintech company by a bank in Germany. The buyer is ING Deutschland GmbH, the parent company of ING-DiBa AG. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.   The Noerr team which advised on this transaction was headed by the Partner Hans Radau and the Senior Associate Armin Bartsch. Both have extensive expertise in advising fintech companies and have, besides Lendico, advised the online lending platforms Zencap and Spotcap and the Chicago fintech company Joinesty on its European market entry.
