Inflexion Private Equity has created Halo Technology (Halo), a global vendor of optical transceivers by combining ProLabs, a UK-based business backed by Inflexion in June, with AddOn Computer Peripherals, a California-based business acquired in a transaction backed by Inflexion in November. Operating under the Halo umbrella will allow ProLabs and AddOn to retain their existing brands while benefitting from synergies gained through the alliance. The combined group employs approx 150 people. Clearwater International UK has advised South Wales-based marine and energy engineering group Harris Pye, on its sale to oil and gas asset management services platform Joulon. Joulon provides asset management for the energy industry through a portfolio of manufacturers and service providers. Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners (Quinbrook), a global investment manager specialising in lower carbon and renewable energy infrastructure assets, has expanded its UK reserve power project portfolio to a potential 140 Megawatts (MW) after acquiring a further three projects comprising 56 MW across three sites located in the West Midlands, Essex and Hampshire, England. Its products are sold under the Outward Hound, Petstages, Dublin Dog, Bionic and Nina Ottosson brands.   Riverside helped Outward Hound expand in a number of ways during its roughly four year hold, including investing in sales, marketing, and branding initiatives. LSP has held the first and final closing at EUR280 million (USD 330 million) of its new medical technology fund, the LSP Health Economics Fund 2 (LSP HEF 2). Synopsys has completed its acquisition of Black Duck Software, a privately held leader in automated solutions for securing and managing open source software, in a deal worth USD547 million. Software development is undergoing sweeping and rapid change, including the increasing use of open source software (OSS), which makes up 60 per cent or more of the code in today’s applications. While the use of open source code lowers development costs and speeds time to market, it has been accompanied by significant security and license-compliance challenges, because most organisations lack visibility into the OSS in use.   Black Duck’s industry-leading products
IntelliShop AG, a software and solution provider for B2B eCommerce, will be supported by a new lead investor. An investor consortium advised by IMCap has acquired the majority IntelliShop AG, a software and solution provider for B2B eCommerce.   The transaction will also make additional growth capital available to the Karlsruhe-based software company. The successful management team led by CEO Thomas Mondelli will remain on board.
