Actic International, a holding company owned by the IK 2007 Fund, is to sell 6,647,078 shares in Actic Group AB (Actic) to nine high quality Swedish investors, including Athanase Industrial Partner (Athanase).
As a result, Athanase, a cornerstone investor in the listing of Actic, will increase its holding in Actic from approximately 7.9 per cent to 15.4 per cent of the total number of shares outstanding. The IK 2007 Fund, meanwhile, advised by IK Investment Partners, will no longer own any shares in Actic.

Italmatch Chemicals Group (Italmatch) is to acquire Detrex for USD27 a share in cash following the agreement of a merger deal between the two companies.
Under the terms of the Merger Agreement dated 10 November, 2017, each share of Detrex common stock outstanding immediately prior to the merger will be converted into and exchanged for the right to receive USD27.00 in cash. The merger consideration represents an 8 per cent premium over the closing bid price of Detrex’s common stock as quoted on the website of OTC Markets Group on 9 November, 2017, and a 9 per cent premium over
OMERS Private Equity, the private equity investment arm of the OMERS pension plan has entered into an agreement with Ardian to acquire a majority stake in Trescal, a specialist in calibration services.
The proposed transaction, which values the Company at approximately EUR670 million, is fully supported by Trescal’s management team headed by its CEO Olivier Delrieu. The proposed transaction will see the senior management make an equity reinvestment into Trescal alongside OMERS Private Equity.

Roynat Equity Partners has sold internet access business NetSet to Xplornet Communications (Xplornet). Based in Brandon, Manitoba, NetSet provides next generation broadband services throughout the province of Manitoba.
Xplornet will maintain the NetSet Communications trade name and will retain virtually all of NetSet’s employees and business operations in both Brandon and Winnipeg.

Rosewood Private Investments (RPI) has acquired a majority equity in ProTec Laboratory (ProTec), a provider of contract manufacturing services to consumer brands in the dietary supplements, sports nutrition, functional foods, and pet care products industries.
The investment in ProTec represents the third within RPI’s holding company, International Nutrition & Wellness Holdings (INW Holdings), and the second this year under INW Holdings CEO Paul Richardson. The State Street Global Exchange SM Private Equity Index (GXPEI) ended the second quarter of 2017 with continued strong performance of 3.96 per cent, in line with the 3.95 per cent return posted in the first quarter.
The GXPEI is based on directly-sourced limited partnership data and represents more than USD2.5 trillion in private equity investments, with more than 2,800 unique private equity partnerships, as of 30 June 2017.

Vestar Capital Partners (Vestar) is to acquire to acquire Nonni’s Food Group (Nonni’s), a manufacturer of artisanal biscuits and other baked snacks from Wind Point Partners.
Terms of the transaction, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2017, have not been disclosed.
Nonni’s products are marketed under the Nonni’s, THINaddictives, and La Dolce Vita brand names, and sold through a diverse distribution platform that includes major customers in club, grocery, mass market, foodservice, and online retailing.

Apellis Pharmaceuticals, a portfolio company of early-stage venture capital fund Epidarex Capital, has completed its initial public offering (IPO).
Apellis began trading on the NASDAQ Global Select Market under the ticker symbol “APLS” on Thursday, 9 November. Having raised gross proceeds of circa USD150 million from the offering.
