A new fund that aims to invest in EIS-qualifying companies in the media and entertainment industries has been launched by Atlantic Screen Media Limited. Atlantic is seeking to raise GBP15m in the current tax year for identified projects.

Arrowroot Capital Management has held the closing of its third fund, Arrowroot Capital III with over USD177 million in limited partner and general partner commitments.

Five Capital, a subsidiary of CDC International Capital based in Dubai and Riyadh, has entered into exclusive negotiations with Diwanee, a subsidiary of Webedia Group, French specialist in theme-based online publishing, for a merger between Diwanee and Uturn Entertainment, a Saudi digital content provider.
Further discussions between the parties will take place in the coming weeks with a view to concluding a final agreement. This transaction, if agreed, will be subject to board approval from each concerned party and would be undertaken in full compliance with current local and international laws and regulations.

Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) has raised EUR5.2 billion for Senior Debt Partners III (SDP3), the largest pooled direct lending fund in Europe so far in 2017.


The SDP3 transaction took from January to September 2017 to structure, document and close. The fund was oversubscribed and catered for a wide-range of investors, including a large number of pension fund and insurers. 


Investors were global, located in a large number of jurisdictions such as Israel, Korea, Australia, the US and Europe. Consequently, the structure had to be flexible enough to cater for a wide-range of international regulatory and tax requirements. There

The transaction allows Trilantic Europe to invest in a leading and specialised healthcare operator in the German private psychotherapy market based on an attractive portfolio of clinics and a unique therapy concept.

Sixth Element Capital (6EC), a UK based fund manager established to manage investments for the GBP70 million CRT Pioneer Fund, has made a GBP3 million investment in NeoPhore Ltd, a spin out from Cambridge, UK based PhoreMost Ltd.
NeoPhore is focused on the discovery and development of novel small molecule therapies to treat cancer through stimulation of the immune system. The investment will be used to build on the discoveries already made by PhoreMost and its collaborators. NeoPhore’s drug target rationale is highly validated by genetic evidence in cancer patients and cellular models.
