Group assets raised since 2008 now stand at approximately USD1.1 billion/GBP780 million. Prestige, focuses on commercial loans for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the UK, launched its loan strategy in 2008 and now has over 60 employees and retained consultants globally. Latest figures published today by the Association of Investment Companies (AIC) report that the Venture Capital Trust (VCT) sector raised GBP457.5m in the 2015/2016 tax year – the third highest on record.
This compares to GBP429m in the 2014/15 tax year, which itself was a strong year for fundraising and is now the fifth highest on record. VCT funds under management to 5 April 2016 (GBP3.6 billion) are slightly up on last year (GBP3.5 billion).

International law firm Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) has advised mid-market investor Aurelius Group (Aurelius) on the successful completion of its cross-border acquisition of Colt Group SA’s virtualised cloud computing and managed hosting services business, Colt Managed Cloud (CMC).
WFW advised Aurelius on all corporate aspects of the transaction, in which CMC has been fully integrated into Aurelius’ ICT Services subsidiary Getronics. This has created a long-term strategic partnership between Getronics and Colt, in which Getronics will also provide its Cloud services to Colt’s customer base and utilise Colt’s data centre and network.

Duvas Technologies (Duvas) produces equipment that enables remote sensing and identification of airborne chemicals and gases via sophisticated ultra-violet absorption spectroscopy systems.
The equipment is used in a range of areas, including air quality management, where it can detect pollutants including ozone, nitrogen and sulphur dioxides. These gases are key contributors to traffic pollution.
