Norse, a specialist in live attack intelligence, has closed its Series A1 round of funding led by a strategic investment from KPMG Capital, KPMG International’s global investment fund. The investment will enable KPMG’s member firms to offer Norse threat intelligence products and services to clients through the KPMG network’s global cyber security practice. Using data from the recently released 2015 Preqin Alternative Assets Performance Monitor, Preqin has created league tables of alternative asset fund managers that have most consistently outperformed their peers. The league tables do not seek in any way to endorse these fund managers, but rather to illustrate those that have performed the most consistently in the past. Six primary strategies have been presented – buyout, venture capital, mezzanine, real estate, infrastructure and natural resources – with venture capital seeing the most fund managers achieve the highest possible score. UMB Fund Services (UMBFS) has launched a mobile app for its proprietary alternative investment fund accounting and investor servicing technology called UMB Fund Services FastPro. The app, which is live on Android and Apple iOS operating systems, allows clients to view historical data and reports, investor demographics and fund performance information at anytime, anywhere an internet connection is available. Exabeam, a specialist in user behaviour analytics (UBA) for security, has held the closing of a USD25 million financing round to further accelerate the company's rapid growth and continue updating its UBA solution in response to customer demand and industry trends. Icon Ventures led the Series B investment round. Icon Ventures’ previous security investments include Palo Alto Networks and FireEye two of the most valuable security companies in the world. Exabeam’s previous investors – Aspect Ventures, Investor Shlomo Kramer and Norwest Venture Partners – also participated in the Series B funding, which follows a milestone year of growth for Exabeam

Private investment firm Enhanced Capital and FocusPoint Private Capital Group (FocusPoint), a FINRA member focused on private capital raising, have formed Enhanced FocusPoint (EFP), a partnership to source, seed and launch a series of private investment funds.    EFP will identify talented management teams with investment strategies suitable for institutional investors allocating capital to private funds. This partnership will expand the reach and capabilities of each firm, providing experienced limited partners with new investment strategies.   Four sectors of focus have been identified for the platform: Equity, Credit/Income-Generating, Real Assets, and Special Opportunities. Enhanced and FocusPoint have a long history of backing
Swarm64 AS, a data acceleration company from Oslo and Berlin, has raised a total of up to EUR7.1 million from lead investors Alliance Venture, Target Partners and Investinor. The funds will be used for market entry, building out the team and to set up operations in the US market. Swarm64 has been developing a hardware and software solution that scales databases in size and speed past their current limitations. Swarm64’s Scalable Data Accelerator (SDA) and its database extensions will contribute to the professionalisation of open source databases. Genstar Capital and Aquiline Capital Partners are to acquire Ascensus Inc. from JC Flowers & Co. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter, following regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. Ascensus, the nation’s largest independent service provider of retirement and college savings plans, was founded more than 30 years ago and has since expanded into new markets within the financial services industry to offer a comprehensive suite of defined contribution and defined benefit retirement plan solutions, benefits education, 529 college savings plan recordkeeping, and IRA and health savings
London-based investor Impax Asset Management,has completed a PLN181.5 million (EUR43 million) refinancing for the 42 MW Kisielice wind park in Poland.  The new facilities provided by a syndicate led by Raiffeisen Bank Polska with Raiffeisen Bank International, and Alior Bank were used to refinance loans and hedging provided by Caixa Bank for the original 18 MW wind farm that was acquired by Impax funds in March 2013. The new facilities were also used to refinance a 22 MW expansion of the project that was commissioned in late 2013 which was funded by Impax.   Impax was advised by Norton Rose,
Audax Private Equity completed its 500th acquisition on 21 September when portfolio company Advanced Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery (ADCS) acquired the assets of Dermatology of Northern Colorado, a dermatology practice in Fort Collins, Colorado.
