Surge Private Equity has invested in its 10th platform, Contractor Connect (CC), a B2B networking lead-generation platform within the home improvement and remodeling space.  The transaction closed with debt financing provided by Modern Bank and Assurance Mezzanine Fund with BakerHostetler acting as lead counsel. Since its founding in 2014, CC has connected hundreds of thousands of homeowners to local contractors through its proprietary lead aggregator, screening, and live-transfer platform. The Company primarily specialises in various home remodelling verticals including bathrooms, windows, roofs, gutters, and sidings. Global private markets firm Partners Group has acquired a significant equity stake in Milestone Equipment Holdings (Milestone) and will partner with Barings to continue and accelerate the company’s growth story as one of the largest providers of transportation equipment and supply chain solutions in the US. Through this significant recapitalisation, which Barings led, Milestone raised over USD1.0 billion in equity commitments from institutional investors in a transaction that valued the Company in excess of USD1.4 billion. Umbrella Network, a decentralised Layer-2 oracle solution, has acquired of Lucidity, a blockchain-based digital advertising oracle.  This deal will be accretive to Umbrella Network as early as Q1 2022. The Riverside Company, a global private investor focused on the smaller end of the middle market, has sold Y International, high-end Japanese bike retail chain, to Daiwa PI Partners. Terms of the transaction have to been disclosed. Riverside invested in Y International in 2013. LBO France, through its Small Caps Opportunities II fund, has acquired a majority stake in the French company Baobag, alongside BNP Paribas Développement, AfricInvest and the management team – the latter led by Fabrice Saffré, to increase the company’s position in its markets. Jscrambler, a technology company specialising in cybersecurity products for web and mobile applications, has raised USD15 million in Series A financing.  The round was led by Ace Capital Partners, with the participation of existing investors including Portugal Ventures.
