Privately-owned specialist retail investment boutique Modella Capital has acquired Hobbycraft, the largest arts and crafts retailer in the UK, from British private equity firm Bridgepoint, which has fully exited its investment. Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Founded in Bournemouth in 1995 and acquired by Bridgepoint in 2010, Hobbycraft now employs over 2,000 people, has 124 stores across the UK and an online club with over 7m members. According to a press statement, the company saw sales of £216m in FY 2024 and adjusted EBITDA of £10.4m.
