Capstone Partners, a leading global placement agent, has promoted Michael Keaveney and Jeff Walters to Partner, following a very successful year in 2021. These promotions reflect Capstone’s commitment to recognising success in the team and the continued growth of the business.   Keaveney joined Capstone in 2014 and is responsible for distribution and client origination in the Northeastern and Eastern United States.  Walters joined Capstone in 2008 and is responsible for distribution and client origination in the Midwestern United States.
Macquarie Asset Management, the asset management division of Macquarie Group, has completed its acquisition of Central Park Group, an independent investment advisory firm that specialises in institutional-quality alternative investment strategies for high-net-worth investors. Central Park Group is a pioneer in providing financial advisors and their clients access to top private equity, hedge fund, and real estate talent and strategies in structures specifically designed to meet the needs of high-net-worth and smaller institutional investors. Central Park Group will form the cornerstone of Macquarie’s efforts to serve US high-net-worth investor demand for alternative investments.
European special situations manager Warwick Capital Partners has backed the launch of private rented sector business Eden Living, which will focus on letting newly built housing in South Wales and Southwest England. The business will offer two-to-four-bedroom single-family homes in suburban areas. Developments will be located close in proximity to schools, amenities, services, and transport links, with the broader aim of creating local communities.   Eden Living has partnered with Edenstone Homes, a leading regional homebuilder, to acquire 400 single-family homes for which Edenstone will provide a ‘ready to move in’ fit and finish.    Eden Living has secured equity
Verdant Capital has been ranked joint No1 by M&A deal flow for 2021 in the DealMakers Africa leagues tables, for the pan-Africa (ex-South Africa) region overall. DealMakers is the pre-eminent league table agency for Africa and announced its results for 2021 on 11 March, 2022. In the East Africa region league table (deal flow), Verdant Capital finished joint first. Texas Medical Center (TMC) has increased the size of the TMC Venture Fund to USD50 million dollars, doubling down on its vision to foster and invest in life science entrepreneurship. The USD50 million investment, combined with the recent launch of the TMC3 campus – the world’s largest life science campus – further solidifies Houston as a critical hub for healthcare and life science ventures. Construction technology startup Mastt has raised USD9.5 million less than 12 months after its seed round, as it aims to almost double its headcount and continue expansion abroad. One Equity Partners (OEP), a middle market private equity firm, is to acquire PGW Auto Glass (PGW), a distributor of aftermarket glass products for the North American automotive sector, from a subsidiary of LKQ Corporation (LKQ). Terms of the transaction, which is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2022 and is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, have not been disclosed. Vira Health, the company behind menopause app, Stella, has secured USD12 million in new funding to continue its mission of improving women’s long-term health. The latest financing ledgy Octopus Ventures builds on a previous USD2 million funding round that drew investment from LocalGlobe, MMC, Amino Collective, among others. The new investment will support growth of the Stella app in the US market, clinical trials and the addition of medication and telemedicine.
