SmithRx, a next-generation pharmacy benefits management company, has closed a USD20 million series B financing round, following a year of record growth in which the company surpassed 1,100 employer clients.
Venrock led the oversubscribed round and was joined by existing investors, including Founders Fund.
The proceeds will support Smith’s plans for continued growth as it becomes the leader in next-generation pharmacy benefits management (PBM).

Leap, a leading provider of home contractor sales enablement software, has acquired JobProgress, a workflow and CRM product for home contractors.
Together, Leap, a portfolio company of private equity firm Next Equity, and JobProgress will serve more than 2,400 home contractors in North America.
JobProgress’ product suite offers CRM, project management, scheduling, and employee management tools to both exterior and interior residential contractors. Auction-based advertising infrastructure startup, Topsort, has raised USD8 million in a seed funding round.
Founded just over a year ago, Topsort closed its seed round from various marketplace investors including Pear Ventures, Quiet Capital, FJLabs, Micky Malka (Ribbit Capital), Lydia Jett (Softbank), Akhil Paul, Comma VC and various other individual investors. The report shows that the second quarter of 2021 was a particularly good one for the global LBO market, delivering a quarterly return of almost 12 per cent. This growth was mostly driven by the European and North American regions. The strongest progression was recorded for the youngest vintage years of 2017-2019.

The BLOC Smart Africa fund (BLOC SA), initiated by the Smart Africa Alliance and managed by Bamboo Capital Partners, is to invest EUR300,000 in Digitech, a Côte d’Ivoire-based SaaS insurance technology start-up.
BLOC SA is leading the seed round, catalysing additional capital from Launch Africa Ventures. Digitech is BLOC SA’s first investment.
The proceeds of the financing will primarily go to support the development and commercialisation of the Hyperion 2.0 reinsurance ERP software, a cloud-based solution automating transactions between insurers and reinsurers.
