DNABLOCK, a company developing tools for creator communities in the new decentralised medium of Web3, has closed a second seed round of USD7 million led by blockchain gaming, NFT, and metaverse champions Sfermion, Solana Ventures, Animoca Brands, and Non-Fungible Labs. Charger Investment Partners, a middle market private equity firm, has appointed Aaron Figura as a Managing Director.   Figura will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and leading investments, as well as supporting the portfolio and contributing to the firm’s strategic direction. Figura has over 15 years of M&A experience and was most recently a Principal at OpenGate Capital, where he led investments primarily within the industrial manufacturing and services sectors. Figura’s extensive transaction experience includes corporate carve-outs, reorganisations, management buy-outs, and private sales.
Zeus Fire & Security (Zeus), a portfolio company of Baltimore-based private equity firm Access Holdings, has formed a new partnership with Universal Atlantic Systems (UAS), a Philadelphia-based national provider of integrated security systems that will make Zeus one of the top 15 fire and security providers in the US. Churchill Asset Management LLC, an investment-specialist affiliate of Nuveen providing customised financing solutions to private equity firms and their portfolio companies, has made 29 promotions across the business. Notably, Kelli Marti has been named Senior Managing Director, Head of CLO Management. Since joining Churchill in October 2020, Marti has been responsible for the management and growth of Churchill’s middle market CLO platform.
Len The Plumber (LTP), a full-service residential plumbing company and a portfolio company of private equity firm Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP), has completed the acquisition of Canady’s Heating, Air, Plumbing, a full-service provider of residential HVAC and plumbing services. Canady’s was founded in 1986 and serves six counties in eastern Georgia. Both Canady’s partners, Fred Canady and Kyle Canady, will stay on post-close and continue to run the business.  Terms of the transaction have not benen disclosed.
Partners Group, a global private markets firm, has, on behalf of its clients, agreed to acquire Forterro, a pan-European software services provider for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs), from Battery Ventures. The transaction values Forterro at an enterprise value of EUR1 billion. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in London, Forterro has a portfolio of 11 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software brands, serving over 10,000 customers primarily in the manufacturing space. Partners Group will work with management to realise Forterro’s value creation potential and further expand its platform across Europe.
OpenGate Capital, a global private equity firm, has made a strategic investment in Annex Cloud, a provider of SaaS customer retention and loyalty management solutions to mid-market and enterprise customers worldwide. The company will continue to be led by its founder and CEO, Al Lalani. Terms of the investment have not been disclosed.   Founded in 2011, Annex Cloud provides a turnkey loyalty management platform that helps brands engage, retain, and grow customer relationships at scale. 
Mercer Global Advisors, a US Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) majority owned by both Oak Hill Capital and Genstar Capital, has acquired Benemark, a respected wealth management firm headquartered in Westport, Connecticut. Benemark serves approximately 70 clients with assets under management (AUM) of approximately USD230 million. Benemark was founded by Robert A Medvey, CFP, CPWA, Partner and CEO, and Gregg G Padilla, CFP, Partner and CFO, in 1995.  Benemark offers comprehensive financial planning and portfolio management to high-net-worth individuals, families, and corporate clientele. Benemark’s entire team will be joining Mercer Advisors.
KKR has completed the acquisition of Yayoi Co (Yayoi), a software developer, distributor, and support service provider for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Japan, from ORIX Corporation. All regulatory approvals have been obtained. Yayoi is a financial and accounting software provider for SMEs and sole proprietors in Japan, best known for its namesake accounting and tax filing software that is widely used by Japanese SMEs.  KKR is making the investment from its Asia IV Fund.
