HMNC Brain Health (HMNC), a biotech company pioneering the development of personalised therapies in psychiatry powered by predictive companion diagnostics, has received an additional EUR9 million from its current investors.  The supplemental investment brings the total raised to date to EUR28 million and will secure HMNC’s financial position in advance of an expected Series B round later this year. The current raise, in the form of convertible debt, was provided by renowned family offices, including that of Carsten Maschmeyer, the Jahr family and Dr Guntard Gutmann. The additional funds will be used to accelerate HMNC’s pipeline development towards market maturity.
Biconomy has raised USD9 million in a private funding round led by DACM and Mechanism Capital, with strategic investments from Coinbase Ventures, CoinFund, True Ventures, Bain Capital, NFX, Proof Group, Ledgerprime, Huobi Innovation Labs, Primitive Ventures, Genblock and Rarestone Capital as well as angel investments from Stani from Aave, Hasu, Stephane Gosselin from Flashbots, Prabhakar Reddy from Falcon X, Arbitrum founders and more.  The completion of this round of financing includes participation from previous investors including Woodstock Fund, Eden Block, and Zee Prime Capital.  Web3.0 applications face critical roadblocks to user adoption including complex user onboarding and confusing transaction experiences.
Airwallex, a global payments platform, is to establish Capital 49, a new venture capital (VC) fund set up by Airwallex founders, that will invest into early stage, high-growth technology-enabled companies powered by Airwallex’s infrastructure.  The new fund aims to raise USD200 million through the Airwallex founders and other investors, and will look for opportunities to invest among companies within Airwallex’s ecosystem, across a number of industries including e-commerce, SaaS, digital and technology, business services and enablers, and fintech. Prime Trust, a one-stop shop for financial infrastructure for fintechs, has closed a USD64 million Series A funding round.  The timing of the raise coincides with the firm having crossed USD100 million in annual revenue-run rate and 250 million API calls per month from its B2B customers. This is the first institutional round of funding for Prime Trust. Led by Mercato Partners, the round also includes strategic participation from Samsung Next, Nationwide, Commerce Ventures, Ayon Capital, Kraken Ventures, STCAP, s20 Capital, Seven Peaks Ventures, Diverse Angels, University Growth Fund and Nevcaut Ventures. BCS Global Markets (BCS GM) has appointed Inna Kryachko as its new HR Director, based at BCS GM’s Moscow headquarters. As the Director of HR, Kryachko will be responsible for the development of the motivation system and HR automation projects in all the regions where BCS GM is active.   Kryachko brings to BCS GM over 20 years’ experience working in the HR departments of major Russian and international companies and over 18 years’ experience holding managerial positions. Before joining BCS GM, she spent two years as Deputy HR Director at Rosgeology, where she oversaw compensations, benefits, and organisational development.
Fintech, broker and asset management company Darwinex has raised EUR3 million to pursue its ambitious growth aspirations. Leading investors in the round were Stefan Jaecklin and Pinorena Capital who were joined by Darwinex co-founders and a number of key employees in the company. Pinorena Capital, a fintech-focused investment company led by entrepreneur Illimar Mattus, has contributed with this first investment to supporting Darwinex expansion journey. Darwinex is regulated by the FCA in the UK (Tradeslide Trading TechLimited – FRN 586466) and its latest financial figures show revenue for the financial year 2020 jumping by 72 per cent, exceeding EUR4.69 million.
Impact technology company Diginex has closed a USD6 million Series A round led by Fitch Ventures, the equity investment arm of Fitch Group, bringing the total amount raised to over USD8 million.
