Novo Holdings, a leading international life science investor, has led a USD118 million Series C financing in new portfolio company Genomatica, which harnesses biology to remake everyday products and materials with a reduced environmental impact.  The funding will be used to accelerate the global commercialisation and expansion of Genomatica’s sustainable materials, with the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 100 million tons per year.   Genomatica will use the investment to scale production for its portfolio of products and continue investing in new technologies to amplify the impact of sustainable materials across a range of industries. Turquoise, a UK merchant bank specialising in energy, environment and efficiency, has announced its tenth deal for the Low Carbon Innovation Fund 2 (LCIF2), a GBP250,000 investment in pH sensor company ANB Sensors (ANB).  LCIF2 led the GBP997,000 equity round which included Hatch Accelerator Fund and Applied Technology Ventures as co-investors.   ANB was founded in 2015 to develop and commercialise next-generation, calibration-free pH sensor technology that is robust enough to use in hostile environments, including the deep ocean where measurements help in modelling the impacts of climate change. Global private markets firm Partners Group has agreed, on behalf of clients, to acquire Reedy Industries (Reedy), a US-based heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) service provider, from Audax Private Equity.  As part of the transaction, the Reedy family, management, and Audax, will remain minority investors in the Deerfield, Illinois-headquartered business. Growthdeck has exited its investment in electric vehicle developer Saietta Group via an IPO on London’s Alternative Investment Market, delivering up to 22x valuation to Growthdeck’s early stage EIS investors. The AIM IPO, which took place on Wednesday, 7 July, raised GBP37.5 million of new investment, and gave Saietta Group a market capitalisation of cGBP105 million. The IPO will allow the group to establish a motor durability testing facility and expand European production capacity to 100,000 motors per year.
