Pathway Capital Management has closed on a USD150 million custom secondaries fund for a US-based institutional investor. The fund will focus on making secondary investments in a wide variety of private equity strategies.
The fund represents a continuation of Pathway’s successful 29-year history of investing in the private markets, which totals more than USD100 billion in commitments. To date, Pathway has developed more than 90 customizsd solutions for our investors across private equity, private credit, and infrastructure mandates.
The Carlyle Group’s Global Credit platform has provided USD95 million in transitional growth capital for Wake Forest, North Carolina-based Zippy Shell, one of the largest containerized moving and storage companies in the United States. The financing package includes a USD75 million second lien term loan and USD20 million in preferred equity. Zippy Shell plans to use the funds for growth initiatives and strategic acquisitions.

Funds advised by Equistone Partners Europe (Equistone) have agreed to sell their majority stake in Nuremberg-based Eschenbach Holding (Eschenbach), a German spcialist in eyewear and low-vision products, offering correction frames and ready-to-wear sunglasses, with further strong positions in Europe and the US. Eschenbach is being acquired by British Inspecs Group (Inspecs), which is based in Bath and listed in London. The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed and it remains subject to approval from the relevant competition authorities.

Forter, a specialist in e-commerce fraud prevention, has raised USD125 million in a Series E funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, Felix Capital and Itai Tsiddon, with participation from Sequoia Capital, NewView Capital, Scale Venture Partners, March Capital Partners and Commerce Ventures.The round propels Forter’s valuation to over USD1.3 billion.

Moulded Foams, one of the UK’s largest independent producers of moulded foam products, has expanded its manufacturing presence across Scotland by adding Stornoway to its portfolio of sites. Hams Hall Sustainable Energy Ltd (HHSE) has secured an GBP800,000 loan from the Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF) Debt Finance, managed by Maven Capital Partners (Maven). The company is set to use the funding to support the delivery of new contracts, including purchasing and installing a sustainable energy system for a Birmingham-based blue-chip customer.

Eurazeo PME, a subsidiary of Eurazeo that specialises in investing in medium-sized companies, is to acquire Altaïr group. The deal involves Eurazeo PME investing around EUR115 million in the Group. Eurazeo PME would hold a majority stake alongside Altaïr management and key executives.
Altaïr was founded in 1946 by the Brunel brothers, and is a leading European producer of household and home care products. Operating in a resilient sector that has demonstrated steady growth over the last 20 years, the Group generated around EUR105 million of revenue in 2019 and maintained its growth trajectory despite the ongoing sanitary crisis.
