Alternative investment specialist Aquila Capital has mandated KlimaInvest Green Concepts, a Hamburg-based energy and climate protection agency, to offset all CO2 emissions related to this year’s Global Summit 2019 by PEI Alternative Insight in Berlin, one of the world’s biggest conferences on infrastructure investments. The emissions, caused by travel and accommodation of the participants as well as the venue’s consumption in terms of water, heating, catering, and others, will be compensated by targeted investments in certified climate protection projects. Growth Capital Partners (GCP), a partnership-focussed investor, has appointed Liam Bennett as Investment Executive. Bennett joins GCP from KPMG, where he spent several years based in both their UK and Australian offices. Global law firm Goodwin is to open a new office in Santa Monica, California, which will focus on the technology and private equity industry verticals. It will be the firm’s second in Southern California, the fourth in the state, and the eleventh globally. The new office will be located in a modern, state-of-the-art space at 520 Broadway in Santa Monica. It will initially take up more than 20,000 square feet over the building’s entire fifth floor. New venture capital fund, King River Capital (KRC), has held first close of its initial fund and the completion of its first two investments in FinClear and Cover Genius. KRC provides early stage Australian and overseas-based software companies with the capital, knowledge and international relationships to enable global expansion opportunities.   Based on this initial early stage fund close, KRC will be looking to invest in 15-20 companies with an average investment of AUD10 million, over three to four years. Though stage-agnostic, KRC will be focusing on late-Series A and Series B investment opportunities in the technology and software sector.

Lorna Robertson (pictured), joins from Invesco where she was responsible for managing relationships with investment and private banks and developing strategic partnerships. TPA Capital has completed the acquisition of a controlling stake in Pallet-Track Limited, a provider of services to the palletised freight sector. Pallet-Track comprises almost 90 haulier members who leverage the network to provide nationwide coverage to their customers.
