An affiliate of private equity investment firm HIG Capital (HIG) has acquired Lipari Foods from Sterling Investment Partners (Sterling), and certain other selling shareholders. HIG is partnering with the Lipari family and the current management team to grow the company’s distribution and manufacturing platform. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.   Founded in 1963 and headquartered in Warren, Michigan, Lipari is a leading distributor of perimeter-of-the-store, specialty, and branded food products, proudly serving over 6,300 customers throughout the Midwest and beyond. The Company’s products span the deli, bakery, dairy, specialty retail, seafood, packaging, confections, ethnic, and organic categories,
IZI Medical Products (IZI), an interventional radiology medical device company and portfolio company of Shore Capital Partners (Shore), has acquired select soft tissue biopsy and breast localisation needle assets from Cook Medical (Cook).  The acquired portfolio of products is commercially marketed under the highly regarded Quick-Core Biopsy Needle, MReye Breast Localization Coil, and the Kopans and X-Reidy Lesion Localization Needles.   “This represents IZI’s third add-on acquisition in the last 18 months and significantly adds to our world-class portfolio of minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic products for the interventional radiology market,” says Greg Groenke, Chief Executive Officer, IZI Medical.

Investec Corporate and Investment Banking (Investec) has appointed Ben Bourne, Michael Donnelly and Salvatore Caruso as it strengthens its equity research team. Bourne has joined Investec to head the capital goods research team. He has 15 years’ experience as an equity research analyst and joins from Liberum, where he led the UK capital goods equity research team from 2010. His research coverage encompassed aerospace and defence, industrial engineering, electrical equipment, support services and the tech hardware sector. Fitch Ratings has launched a new integrated scoring system that shows how environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors impact individual credit rating decisions. 

 The new ESG Relevance Scores, which have been produced by Fitch’s analytical teams, transparently and consistently display both the relevance and materiality of ESG elements to the rating decision. They are sector-based and entity-specific. 

   Using a standardised and transparent scoring system, Fitch is introducing ESG Relevance Scores across all asset classes, starting with over 1,500 non-financial corporate ratings. This will be followed by banks, non-bank financial institutions, insurance, sovereigns, public finance, global infrastructure and structured finance.
