Gen Cap America has partnered with management in its acquisition of Blower Application Company, Inc (BloApCo), a Southeastern Wisconsin-based specialty manufacturer of shredders, fans, and other scrap handling and pneumatic conveying equipment. The investment is being made by Partnership Capital Fund I, Inflexion’s dedicated minority investing fund. Amid rising concerns about a downturn in the economic cycle, institutional investors are looking to mitigate risks by increasing allocations to private markets, according to BlackRock’s annual survey of global institutions. Globally, over half (56 per cent) of clients stated that the possibility of the cycle turning is one of the most important macro risks influencing their rebalancing and asset allocation plans. Investcorp Technology Partners (ITP) has successfully closed the transfer of its remaining two portfolio companies in ITP Fund III, with a combined enterprise value of USD185 million, to a continuation vehicle, Investcorp Secondary Fund 2018 LP which is supported by HarbourVest. Mid Europa Partners, a private equity investor focussed on Central and Eastern Europe, has completed the acquisition of Urgent Cargus.   Urgent Cargus is a courier, express and parcel service provider in Romania, offering last mile delivery to over 85,000 customers, including business clients, e-commerce retailers and private individuals.   Urgent Cargus operates a dense network of five hubs and 71 stations connected by 360 linehaul routes, which together with its state-of-the-art asset base and logistical capabilities enable the Company to offer high-quality services such as 24-hour delivery across the country.
Private equity investment platform Seedrs has announced a record-breaking year with the highest levels of investment on the platform to date.   The Woodford-backed platform saw nearly a 60 per cent increase in investment activity from last year, recording GBP195 million invested into pitches on the platform in 2018.   2018 saw 186 successful pitches from businesses who raised on Seedrs from 12 different countries, 28 of which were fundraises of over GBP1 million.
