Macfarlanes has advised specialist investment firm Circularity Capital on the raising of its debut fund, Circularity European Growth Fund I LP, which has exceeded its GBP50 million target and closed at its GBP60 million hard cap.
Investment commitments came from global financial institutions, family offices, private investors and strategic corporate investors with funds being used to invest in growth stage European SMEs in the circular economy.
The Macfarlanes team was led by investment management partner Stephen Robinson with assistance from senior solicitor Harriet Miller. Tax expertise was provided by tax partner Mark Baldwin.

Paul Hastings has represented North Technology Group, a global market leader in sails and spars, and its private equity investor Oakley Capital, on its acquisition of MBrands International BV, operating under the watersports brand, Mystic.
Mystic is a specialist in kiteboarding, wakeboarding and windsurfing apparel and equipment. The Paul Hastings team included corporate partners Anu Balasubramanian and Garrett Hayes, tax partner Arun Birla, and associates Aimée Fabri, Steven King, and Hannah Gray.
Van Doorne advised on the Dutch law aspects of the transaction.
This is Paul Hastings’ first transaction for Oakley Capital, following the arrival of Anu Balasubramanian at the firm in June 2018.

RSK Group, a UK-based integrated environmental, engineering and technical services business, has acquired design, property and construction consultancy Pellings.
This is the ninth acquisition that RSK, a privately owned company with 36 international offices, more than 2700 staff and an annual turnover of GBP200 million, has made in the financial year 2018/2019.
Pellings employs around 125 people with an annual turnover of GBP12.5 million and four offices in London and the South East of England. It provides surveying, architecture, planning and project management and facilities management services for housing, education and healthcare projects. It has recently worked on a
BGF has exited its minority investment in Petrotechnics, a provider of software solutions for hazardous industries, following its acquisition by US-based Sphera Solutions Inc.
BGF invested GBP6 million in the Aberdeen-based company in 2013 to support the development of Proscient – the first software enterprise platform for operational excellence in hazardous industries.

The company was purchased by PolyOne Corporation, a provider of specialised polymer materials, services and solutions.
