Rockpool has acquired a majority stake in Primrose, a European online-only garden products retailer. Founded in 2003, Primrose offers consumers a range of over 10,000 garden and outdoor leisure products from ranges including water features, awnings, sail shades, pest control products, planters and screening.
Primrose primarily sources its products from a network of suppliers based in the Far East and sells direct to consumers via its UK and European websites. Trading, risk and analytics technology provider LightPoint Financial Technology (LightPoint) has completed a Series A funding round led by The Citco Group of Companies, and Ares Management.
TAP Advisors advised LightPoint on the transaction and will take a Board Observer seat.
Michael Arougheti, Chief Executive Officer and President of Ares Management, has been appointed as a board member and will be joined by Citco’s Head of Fund Services, Jay Peller, who will provide strategic consulting and insight into future product development to build upon Citco’s domain knowledge of fund servicing and alternative investment operations.

Digital wealth manager LIQID has closed a EUR33 million Series C financing round led by Toscafund Asset Management. Existing investors, including Project A, HQ Trust and Dieter von Holtzbrinck Ventures, also participated in the round.
Following the transaction, Toscafund, through Tosca Private Investments Fund (TPIF), a new specialist vehicle targeting small/mid-market private equity opportunities in the European financial services sector, will become a significant shareholder in the Berlin-based disrupter. The transaction – subject to customary regulatory approvals – will be TPIF’s first investment in Germany. It ranks among the most substantial funding rounds in the country’s dynamic fintech space.
Jaguar Growth Partners (Jaguar), a privately-held investment management firm focused on real estate private equity and credit in global growth markets, has appointed Mario De Barros as a Principal on the firm’s investment team.
Based in São Paulo, De Barros will lead Jaguar’s investment office in Brazil evaluating investments and monitoring existing portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Jaguar, De Barros was a Director at Patria Investments, where he was responsible for business development, investment appraisal, financial modelling, diligence, monitoring, and the development of new investment theses. EO Charging, one of the UK’s leading electric vehicle (EV) charging manufacturers, has secured GBP13 million funding from London-based infrastructure investor Zouk Capital, also investors in rapid EV charging business InstaVolt.
Founded by Charlie Jardine in 2015, EO designs and manufactures EV charging stations for homes, fleets and destinations. Having previously worked at another UK-based charger manufacturer, Jardine was frustrated by the unreliability of existing charging infrastructure and setup EO with a pledge to make simple and reliable EV chargers.

Talis Capital (Talis), a London-based venture capital firm focused on early-stage technology companies, has led a USD3 million seed funding round into Edge Intelligence (Edge), developer of the first geographically distributed analytics platform built for both edge computing and hybrid cloud environments.
Existing investors in Edge Intelligence include Jerry Yang, co-founder of Yahoo; Scott McNealy, co-founder of Sun Microsystems, as well as Morado Venture Partners and Wellington Partners. Silicon Line, a specialist in developing and providing innovative ultra-low-power optical link technology for consumer electronics as well as commercial and industrial markets, has raised EUR8.2 (USD9.5m) in a Series B financing round led by Capital-E .
Additional investors in the Series B round include LRM, Munich Venture Partners and Unixtar. The financing will be used to ramp-up production of the company’s optical modules – tiny circuit boards inside cable connectors; upgrades to the company’s module factory located in Hasselt, Belgium; the hiring of additional design engineers; and opening of local customer support offices in Asia.
